What people love about Fully Guided Tours in Portugal and Spain
- Portugal , Andalucia & Morocco, 16 days
Our tour guides in Spain and Portugal ( Patricia and Maria ) were amazing and super nice . Tried to make us feel comfortable all the time. Professional and informative. Hotels were mediocre and food was not good. On the other, the guide in Morocco ( Nail) was extremely bad, unprofessional, rude and giving wrong infos all the time! Never made sure everybody hears him.. walked quickly when we had people with difficulty walking and he never cared if they heard him or if they were able to catch up! We politely asked him to say the same info in Spanish and Arabic cuz maybe he got carried away with Spanish but he just gave us his back and walked away!!Being Arab and Muslim I know many infos he gave were made up and false which was bad cuz he was explaining to clueless travellers who are not local. It was about the ruling family, about people in power and how they got there and how they own everything sometimes in corrupt ways. About a never heard before saudi prince ( ashmawi) and how saudi royals are related to Moroccan ones cuz they are descendants of prophet? I’m saudi and i know they never claimed that, it’s all fake info. About how Palestinians are faking their own struggles and Israelis being the best cuz they donated tomato fields to Morocco??!! A minister who owns all gas stations and about a colleague guide who got super rich with hotel chains through shady business? I don’t think a guide should give his own delusions or personal opinions about things nor talk bad about his country. When confronted he said he was the best in Morocco and he’s been doing it for years ? he almost attacked me physically if it was not for my brother protecting me and started yelling and shouting calling us trouble makers and all kinds of things I’ve been all over the world, doing so many tours but I’ve never seen someone as bad nor ill-mannered!! Even by the end of the tour when I went to thank him and the driver he literally gave me his back! I think a corrective action needs to be taken and also he should never be a guide for your tours again
- From Lisbon 12-Day Andalucia & Morocco
I think the first thing that we really enjoyed about the tour were the many interesting cities and towns that we visited . An excellent choice and variation of destinations. We heard some negative comments about how, because the organizers had to move many people around on different schedules and trips we were only with the tour members an average of 2 to 3 days before they would disappear onto another bus to go either to other venues or even ending their tour. This did not really bother us as we weren’t there to meet people. We were there to see the country. The company tour guides also changed frequently. And to be honest, some were better than others, especially when it came to communicating in English. There were a few glitches, but it was very understandable because of the difficulty in arranging so many people that were doing different things at the same time. For example, some people on the bus would be starting their trip, while others would be halfway through their trip, while others were finishing their trip all within a day or two. Many of our stops to explore the various cities and towns had local guides. All of them were very good at communicating in our language of choice and were very knowledgeable. During our 12 day tour, there were two hotels that were way below our expectations. All of the others were excellent, or even above our expectations. Perhaps more cultural events could be added to the trip. We really enjoyed the flamenco dancing, so maybe more music, dance and theatre events could be considered. The only true negative experience that we had was during the last leg of our trip when a Spanish movie was put on to watch on the bus, and the volume was extremely loud and disturbing, especially since it was at 8:45 In the morning. I would strongly suggest just using the Spanish subtitles so that other guests could sleep or read peacefully. Other than that we enjoyed our trip immensely. Thank you.
- Iberian Discovery & Morocco
My husband and I had a wondeful time on the 913 Iberian Vacation. The group we were with were extremely pleasant. There were no hickcups throughout the tour. Our guide Sam was great. He was knowledgeable of the areas, gave us some history & tidbits. He also was concern for our safety and told us what to be aware of as a procautionery measure. The places we stayed at were wonderful. The dinners provided were good. My only disappoint -ment was the farewell dinner. There I felt the meat very dry & desert was nothing special. I was not alone on this comment. The breakfast at all hotels were fantanstic. Something for everyone to chose from. The Hacienda Zorita Wine and Spa room did not provide enough lighting but it made up for it due to its beautiful setting. The motorcoach was comfortible. I did notice that in Europe that the hotels do not provide "face cloths" as the American hotels do. Since I had brought disposable facewipes it was not a problem but perhaps something to be noted if not already.
