What people love about Christmas & New Year Tours in Europe
- Europe Taster Christmas
An amazing company to travel with. The coach was clean and very comfortable. Garry the driver was very friendly and a great driver. And gayle is fantastic full of knowledge and very helpful. I think it's safe to say I will be booking my next tour with expat in the very near future.
- Europe Christmas Markets: Munich to Budapest
This trip was great! We met in Munich - 3 Aussies, 2 Americans and Tajna, our tour leader. An orientation walk and a dinner at a beer hall got us started. Tajna is confident, reliable, approachable, understanding and flexible. All of which were excellent qualities for this trip. She took us to multiple Christmas markets and offered suggestions for even more. After Munich came Saltzburg where we also got a Sound of Music tour and a trip through a salt mine in addition to amazing Christmas markets. Then on to Vienna - my favorite place in the trip. Great markets, wonderful food and drink, beautiful city. We ended in Budapest where the rain drove me into the thermal baths for the day. Not a bad way to suffer on a cold rainy day
- Christmas Markets on the Rhine 2026
We enjoyed the New Year AMA cruise, especially the food, the pleasant ambiance on the boat and the friendly staff. Although the weather was not amazing, the organised trips were good and there was plenty of variety. The mixture of nationalities and age groups was a real bonus and we met many interesting people from all over the world. A better variety of evening entertainment would have made the experience even better. (For us ,too much loud music, especially on New Year’s Eve ,when we would have liked something rather more special than just a loud disco.) Generally though a very enjoyable experience to be recommended.
What our customers ask about Christmas & New Year Tours in Europe
What are the most magical Christmas markets to visit during a Europe Christmas & New Year tour?
Europe's historic cities come alive with traditional Christmas markets in December. The grounds of Vienna's Schönbrunn Palace feature local artisans selling handmade crafts while the Rathaus market draws visitors with its seasonal Austrian delicacies. In Bratislava the Old Town square of Hlavné námestie transforms into a festive gathering spot where locals and tourists browse wooden stalls. Budapest's Vorosmarty Square hosts one of Europe's oldest markets where visitors can sample traditional mulled wine and shop for authentic gifts. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The Christmas markets in Vienna were absolutely magical - the perfect combination of tradition festive food and unique gifts."
