What people love about Sightseeing Tours from Amsterdam
- Europe Jewel
It was an amazing tour overall. Sarah the tour leader and Michael our awesome coach driver made the tour so good that I never knew when 14 days passed. The only issue is food, being an Indian I don't like eating bread for breakfast. Rest were all perfect I have no words to describe the trip. One thing I would recommend this trip and the company to everyone.
- Europe Explorer
The European Explorer Tour with Expat Explore, in April this year, was, in my opinion, the best Tour of 2013. The driver, Marco Rodriguez and Tour Leader, Aga Gawel were phenomenal. Nothing was too difficult or too easy for them. Everthing was done first time of asking and they could not have been more helpful.
- Glimpse of Europe (End Paris)
Although a short adventure Annerieke made sure we had made the best of it. Her experience, adaptability and sense of humour made this a great trip.
What our customers ask about Sightseeing Tours from Amsterdam
What are the most popular destinations visited after Amsterdam?
Most travelers head to Berlin, Prague, Budapest, or Paris after Amsterdam. These cities fit naturally into European routes that mix Western and Central European highlights. For example, many people take tours like the Europe Explorer that connects Amsterdam with Paris, Barcelona, Rome, and Florence. A recent TourRadar traveler said: "You get to experience unique locations and create unforgettable travel memories visiting multiple countries and cultures."
How many countries do tours from Amsterdam usually visit?
Most tours from Amsterdam cover between 4 and 7 countries, though it depends on how long you travel. An 8-day Rhine River tour will take you through the Netherlands, Germany, France and Switzerland. If you can spare two weeks, you'll add places like Austria, Slovakia and Hungary to your trip. One TourRadar traveler noted: "Visiting multiple countries gave us a fantastic overview of European culture and architecture."
What do most tours do on their first day in Amsterdam?
Your first evening in Amsterdam will likely include a boat ride through the canals and dinner with your group. During the day, you'll walk through Dam Square, see the Royal Palace, and get a good look at those classic 17th century houses with their distinctive rooflines. TourRadar travelers say "the canal cruise on the first night really helped orient us to the city and was a perfect introduction to Amsterdam's charm."
How long do tours usually stop at sights between Amsterdam and other cities?
You typically get 2-3 hours at major stops. When heading from Amsterdam toward Germany's Rhine Valley, you'll usually spend about 2 hours in Cologne seeing the Cathedral and Old Town, then take a 90-minute river cruise. Most groups stay at places like the NH Hotel Mannheim Viernheim or Novotel Pont de Sèvres along the way.
What's the smartest way to plan a route from Amsterdam to see multiple countries?
From Amsterdam, most tours go through Germany's Rhine Valley for 2 days, then south through the Black Forest to Switzerland for 2-3 days, before turning toward France. A TourRadar traveler said: "the route was well-planned with just enough time in each place - from Amsterdam's canals to the Swiss Alps, we got to see incredible diversity in landscapes and cultures."
Which extra activities should I consider when leaving Amsterdam?
Three activities get especially good reviews: an evening canal cruise in Amsterdam ($30), a trip to see traditional Dutch life in Volendam and Zaanse Schans ($45), and wine tasting in the Rhine Valley ($35). The Uptown Palace Amsterdam and Hotel Notting Hill make good starting points for these activities.
When's the best time to start a tour from Amsterdam?
Most people visit between May and September when it's 68-77°F (20-25°C). Spring is perfect if you want to see tulips, while summer gives you the best weather for walking around cities. Hotels like the Eden Hotel Amsterdam get pretty full during these months. A TourRadar traveler mentioned: "We went in May and had perfect weather for exploring both cities and countryside."
