- Greek Island Hopping with Guided Tours - With 4* hotels Premium
I have chosen this tour to get an experience of the Greek islands. After a quick day in Athens I had an early morning boat to catch, thankfully the agency had organized my transportation. I went to Paros where I had a full day tour that took me to various nice beaches and landmarks but the one that stood out the most was lefkes village. Then to Naxos island, the beaches were great. The best of all was Santorini. During my tour there I got the chance to meet other nice people, visit a local winery and watch the sunset at oia village. My trip was an amazing experience. I will never forget it. Thank you for organizing it for me.

What our customers ask about Greek Islands Small Group Tours
What is the ideal group size for exploring the Greek Islands?
Small group tours in the Greek Islands work best with 8-12 travelers. G Adventures sailing trips are a good example operating with 8 guests plus a skipper on their 57-foot yacht. The smaller numbers allow groups to reach places like hidden coves near Mykonos or quiet beaches on Antiparos that larger tours can't access. As one TourRadar traveler noted "The smaller group allowed us to visit hidden coves and beaches that larger groups couldn't access." These intimate groups can also explore authentic spots like the mountain village of Apiranthos on Naxos without overwhelming local communities.
What type of accommodation can I expect on small group tours?
Small group tours in Greece typically use boutique hotels and family-run properties. In Santorini guests often stay in traditional cave hotels with caldera views while Mykonos offers places like the Molaraki Hotel near New Port. Guest feedback shows particular appreciation for properties like the Anezina Hotel in Paros and local guesthouses in Galissas Syros where accommodations consistently receive ratings above 4.5 out of 5 for their personalized service and authentic character.
How do meal arrangements work on small group tours in Greek Islands?
Tours usually cover daily hotel breakfasts and select group dinners at local tavernas. Groups might dine at waterfront spots in Loutro Crete or family restaurants in Galissas Syros. One TourRadar traveler noted "Our guide took us to hidden gems like a family taverna in Naxos where we shared mezedes and local wines - something you'd never find in large tour groups." Some itineraries include extra food experiences like cooking classes at Hotel Anezina in Paros or wine tastings at Santorini vineyards.
What is the best season for small group tours in Greek Islands?
The Greek Islands welcome small group tours from April through October with May-June and September-October offering the most pleasant conditions. During these shoulder seasons visitors can enjoy activities like the Caldera walk in Santorini without summer crowds or extreme heat. A TourRadar traveler shared that "Visiting in September meant we could enjoy the Byzantine road walk in Paros and explore Naxos's mountain villages without the intense summer heat or crowds."
What special access do small group tours provide in Greek Islands?
The intimate size of small group tours opens doors to experiences larger groups miss. Groups can visit family wineries like Aroma in Santorini's Exogonia village access secluded beaches in Milos by small boat and tour olive farms near Knossos in Crete. According to one TourRadar traveler "Our small group size allowed us to visit local homes in Naxos and learn traditional cooking techniques something impossible with larger groups." The format also works well for exploring narrow village streets in Ano Syros and intimate tavernas in Mykonos' Little Venice.
How flexible are the itineraries on small group tours in Greek Islands?
While maintaining a structured framework small group tours allow room for personal choice. On Naxos and Paros travelers can often choose between guided walks on ancient paths or beach time. In Santorini after a group sunset visit to Oia participants might explore spots like Amoudi Bay independently. One TourRadar traveler shared "Our guide in Syros gave us the option to join the coastal walk to Kini or explore Galissas beach independently - this flexibility made the tour feel more personal."
