- SDSandra· October 20th, 2024When booking this tour I understood it to be a small group tour of not more than 10 people when in fact it turned out to be an arranged schedule with pre booked day trips (via third party operator) with coaches of well over 25 random persons on each day trip. This is not a tour where you have the same group of people for the entire tour. Additionally, meeting the guided tours in Porto, due to the location of the meeting point in relation to our accommodation we needed to arrange Uber transport to and from the meeting point each day, otherwise we would have had to identify trains to take. Our vehicle for transfer to Porto station for train to Lisbon was quite late which caused some stress and hiving to work out who to contact. We thought we would miss the train and then the transport eventually arrived. Lisbon accommodation was across the road from the meeting point which improved things immensely. Each day we received vouchers for the following day activity via text message so you need to be IT savvy to download your vouchers or identify who to contact if things go wrong.. There is no host or tour guide travelling with you. Once we got over the disappointment of it not being a small group tour and changed our mindset to doing things for ourselves the itinerary was good and we got to see and experience some lovely aspects of Portugal. Overall, things worked out okay and we enjoyed ourselves but be prepared to be self reliant and manage yourselves.Show moreTrip date: September 2024
- WRwendy· July 4th, 2024Tour Porto 1st one: Tour guide was a local completely phoned in you could tell there is no passion in that translated to our tour. 2nd Douro valley : Ana Sousa:AMAZING ! She had so much passion she should do all the tours. She was unbelievable and amazing with all of her energy.! Best wine tour n lunch ! Lisbon : None of those tours were great . In fact, I’m gonna say they were pretty boring. My advice for Lisbon there are so many things to see; Sintra on a 40 min train : Pena palace #1 !!! No, they don’t take you there! Pena palace , moorish castle and 2 other castles there ! And take the tuk tuk in Lisbon downtown ; those drivers were amazing !!! So much fun hop on hop off and they know everything ;) Hotels ; they say they are four star but wow, there is quite a range that they allow themselves to call them a four-star …. Hotel in Porto : it’s 3.5 star not 4 But it was fine ( I prefer Much nicer but it’s ok , good location ). Hotel in Lisbon ; also a 3-3.5 star but ok Porto hotel was better and also the breakfast . This location was nowhere near as convenient. All in all it was ok and organized … the transfers were highly responsible and on time and that made it very easy ! Was a plus … The fact that this is bundled, makes it easy and if that’s what you’re looking for book it! Make sure you have extra days in Lisbon Because there is so much so much to see that is amazing that they don’t take you on and you won’t want to miss it!!!Show moreOmega Tours commented on this reviewDear Wendy, Thank you for your detailed feedback on your recent trip. - DBDiane· October 30th, 2022Overall the Highlights of Portugal tout was very good. We liked our hotels. Both were HP hotels. The tour guide for our Porto tour was pleasant but couldn't answer some questions. My husband and I are not big wine drinkers and always drink dry wine. But we surprisingly fell in love with Port. We thoroughly enjoyed the Duoro Valley tour. Our tour guide, Pedro, was great. Visiting the Duoro Valley is a must! Our hotel in Lisbon was walking distance to the historic area and the Metro AND the tour bus hub. Also, it was near a nice park. At times, it was difficult to hear the Lisbon tour guide. She did use a system innthe palace in Sintra but it would have been bettter to use it throughout the tour. We liked the 3 stops: Sintra, western coastal area and Cascais i recommend the Highlights of Portugal tour.Show moreTrip date: October 2022
