Itinerary
- Day 1
Porto
You'll arrive in Porto and spend time exploring this UNESCO World Heritage city with its authentic neighborhoods and over 150 monuments scattered throughout. Wander the old streets on foot to get a real feel for how locals live here. Try the famous Francesinha sandwich, a local specialty that's heavy and delicious, and of course sample some Port wine from one of the traditional lodges. This first day is about getting oriented and soaking in the atmosphere before you head out on your bike.

- Day 2
Porto to Furadouro
Today you'll cycle 42 km along the Atlantic coast heading toward Furadouro, passing through small villages and pine forests that line the route. The pace is manageable and you'll get your first real taste of Portugal's coastal landscape. After arriving in this quieter seaside village, grab lunch at a local spot serving fresh fish. The experience here is about seeing how people live along this stretch of coast, far from the bigger cities.

- Day 3
Furadouro to Aveiro
You're cycling 41 km today to Aveiro, which locals call the Portuguese Venice because of its canal system. When you arrive, you'll board a traditional moliceiro boat and glide along the waterways to see the city from the water. Later, there's a workshop where you'll make Ovos Moles, a local sweet treat that's been made here for generations. If you want to relax after the ride and all that activity, the salt pans nearby offer a chance to unwind in the therapeutic sea salt waters.

Aveiro to Mira
A 35 km cycle takes you to Mira, a fishing village where colorful boats and striped palheiro houses (traditional wooden structures) line the waterfront. You'll meet local fishermen and their families who'll share stories about their work and life here. Grab dinner with fresh Atlantic fish caught locally that morning. This stop really shows you the traditional fishing culture that's been part of this region for centuries.

Mira to Figueira da Foz
Today's the longest ride at 58 km as you head south along Portugal's Silver Coast. By late afternoon you'll reach either Praia da Tocha or Figueira da Foz, a cosmopolitan town with Belle Époque architecture and a different vibe from the villages you've passed through. This is a good place to rest after the longer distance.

You're cycling 45 km inland today toward Coimbra, riding alongside rice fields and the Mondego River as you move away from the coast. When you arrive in this historic university city, you'll see it cascades down a hillside with narrow streets and old buildings. Coimbra is home to Europe's second oldest university and has a distinct atmosphere, especially on summer evenings when fado music drifts through the streets. Spend your evening exploring and listening to this melancholic local music.

Coimbra to Porto Airport
Depending on your flight time, you'll need to arrange a transfer to Porto airport. Check your departure schedule and plan accordingly so you have enough time to get there without rushing. If you have a morning flight, you'll be heading out early. If it's later in the day, you might have time for one last walk through Porto before heading to the airport.
