10 Day Spain Itinerary, incl. Madrid and Granada
A 10-day cultural tour takes you through 10 cities across Spain, Gibraltar, and optional Morocco. Marvel at Madrid's monuments, wander Toledo's Jewish Quarter, stroll Seville's Santa Cruz district, and visit Granada's Alhambra. Comfortable 4-star hotels with daily breakfast and dinner included.
- Day 1
Madrid
Start your Spanish adventure in Madrid. Book an afternoon arrival to avoid rush hour traffic from the airport. A guided tour of Madrid's historic center will orient you nicely. Start at Plaza Mayor, then explore your way to the Royal Palace. The summer sun can be strong here, so pack water and plan indoor activities during peak afternoon heat.
- Day 2
Madrid to Seville (via Toledo)
Head out early to Toledo, just an hour from Madrid. The medieval city rests high on a hill. Good walking shoes are essential - the cobblestone streets can be tricky. Take time to explore the Jewish Quarter before the 4-hour drive to Seville. Stop for lunch to sample local manchego cheese and jamón ibérico at a roadside taverna.
- Day 3
Seville
- Day 4
Seville to Gibraltar
- Day 5
Gibraltar & Optional Tangier
- Day 6

- Day 1
Madrid to Córdoba
Take the 11:00 AM high-speed train from Madrid to Córdoba (2 hours). Visit the Mosque-Cathedral by 2:00 PM to avoid peak crowds. Walk through the Jewish Quarter and see the beautiful flower-filled patios. Wear sturdy shoes for the slippery cobblestones. If you're visiting from June to September, add the evening tour of Medina Azahara.
- Days 2-3
Granada and Costa Tropical
Travel to Granada through Baena and stop at the Núñez de Prado mill for olive oil tasting. Visit the Alhambra early in the day for the best photo opportunities. You'll need 3-4 hours to see everything. Watch the sunset over the Alhambra from San Nicolás viewpoint in the Albaicín quarter. Get there 30 minutes before sunset to find a good spot.
- Days 4-5
Málaga to Seville
Take a coastal drive along Costa del Sol, stopping in Nerja and Frigiliana. Follow the White Villages route with stops in Ronda (spend 2 hours at the gorge and bullring) and Setenil de las Bodegas. Visit the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art in Jerez during morning hours when the horses are most lively.
- Days 6-7
Seville
- Days 8-10
Zaragoza and Barcelona
10 Day Andalusia Itinerary, incl. Granada and Seville
A 10-day self-drive route winds through 7 Andalucian cities, from Malaga to Ronda. Two nights in Granada reveal the Alhambra's secrets, while UNESCO sites in Cordoba and Seville await discovery. Historic Ubeda and Jaen provide authentic stays. Includes 9 breakfasts and traditional tapas experiences for approx. $90 per day.
- Day 1
Málaga
Begin your Andalusian adventure in Málaga, one of Europe's oldest port cities. Get your rental car at the airport before 2 PM to avoid long lines and traffic. Stay near Calle Larios in the historic center for easy walking access. The coastal promenade gets busy after 6 PM when locals take their evening walks.
- Days 2-3
Granada
Take the A-45 then A-92 for a 1.5-hour drive to Granada. Book Alhambra tickets well in advance for the 8:30 AM slot. Visit the Albayzín neighborhood early or late to skip the hot midday climbs. Try Bar Los Diamantes near Plaza Nueva after 8 PM for great tapas. A TourRadar traveler advises: "The narrow streets of Albayzín are not car-friendly - park in the San Agustín garage and walk up."
- Day 4
Úbeda & Jaén
Drive 2 hours on the A-44 through olive country. Walk through Úbeda's Renaissance streets after parking at Plaza Vázquez de Molina. Visit Jaén's castle Parador for great Sierra Morena views. What people love about 10-day Andalucia tours
- Classical Spain with Paris
The tour was great! It was very well paced and gave us enough time to see important sites and enough time for down time and personal time. The accommodations in Seville were terrible! The hotel and the furniture were in very poor run down condition. We were scared to take a shower in the bathroom because it wasn't clean. The beds were hard, and it was inconvenient to get to the room. I think that there could be more order and organization in the morning when leaving Hotel Praga especially when it comes to assigning buses and combining groups. All the tour guides we had were knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive.
- Moorish Andalucia
Siri was an excellent guide. She was passionate, knowledgeable, compassionate, competent, and fun at the same time. I would love to go on another tour with her in the future. The itinerary was good with enough free time. The hotels were all very satisfactory as well. Overall I would recommend explore to my friends.
- Colors of Charming Spain - 9 Days
Hotels, tour guides, transpiration, transfers all very good. Our only complaint was the bus cleanliness, we rode in from Madrid for several days. When we started our long drive on Tuesday morning, our tray tables had not been cleaned. We had dirty napkins, food crumbs on the tray tables. Other folks also had dirty tray tables. The driver should clean all tray tables every night. Especially at the start of a trip and during Covid!
