  • Day 1

    Livingstone Arrival

    Arrive at Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport to start your safari adventure. Book a morning arrival to make the most of your first day. You can join afternoon safari drives in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park where you'll often spot elephants near the Zambezi River. Stay in the Victoria Falls Waterfront area which puts you close to all the main activities.

    
  • Day 2

    Victoria Falls & River Cruise

    Head to Victoria Falls early to catch the morning rainbows in the mist. Between February and July the falls are at full force so bring a waterproof jacket and protect your cameras from the spray. In the afternoon take a Zambezi sunset cruise to see active hippos and elephants coming to drink. The evenings can get cool on the water so bring some warm layers.

    
  • Day 3

    Aerial Views & Cultural Immersion

    Take a 15-minute helicopter flight over Victoria Falls in mid-morning when the lighting is best for photos. Visit Mukuni Village in the afternoon but remember to wear clothing that covers your knees and shoulders to respect local customs. You can use US dollars at the village craft market but small bills are easier for trading.

    
  • Day 4

    Transfer to Kafue National Park

    The trip to Kafue takes about 3 hours on good roads plus a 120km game drive to Nanzhila Plains Safari Camp. The game drive section can be rough so consider motion sickness pills if you need them. Keep important items in a daypack since your main bags will be secured during the drive.

    
  • Days 5-6

    Kafue Safari Experience

    Kafue offers a more private safari experience than many other parks. Game drives start at 6 AM to catch the big cats in action. One visitor shared: "We had the whole southern sector to ourselves and saw a pride of lions hunting - there wasn't another vehicle in sight." You'll see different landscapes from grasslands to woodlands on each drive. Ask for a packed breakfast to spend more time watching wildlife.

    
  • Day 7

    Return to Livingstone

    Travel back to Livingstone the same way you came. Book late flights since wildlife on the roads can slow down morning transfers. You might have time to visit the airport craft markets for souvenirs at better prices than in town.

  • Day 1

    Lusaka to Kafue National Park

    Your adventure starts with a 4-5 hour drive from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport to Kafue National Park. Book an early morning flight to maximize your first day. The drive offers beautiful scenery, but stops are limited once you leave Lusaka. Be sure to bring snacks and water for the journey.

    Kafue National Park Exploration

    Get up early for a dawn game drive when wildlife is most active. You'll have good chances to spot elephants, lions, and leopards. In the afternoon, take a boat trip on the Kafue River to see hippos and crocodiles up close. Wear neutral-colored clothing and bring binoculars for the best wildlife viewing experience.

    Busanga Plains Adventure

    Head north on a 5-hour game drive to Busanga Plains, a remote area that becomes rich with wildlife after the rainy season. Your days will include morning walks to see plains game up close and night drives to spot hunting leopards. The plains get surprisingly cold in the mornings, so pack warm clothing for those open-vehicle game drives.

    Return to Kafue

    Departure via Lusaka

  • Day 1

    Livingstone to Southern Kafue

    Leave Livingstone early at 6:30 AM before it gets hot. You'll drive 4-5 hours to Kafue's southern gate on mixed-quality roads. Consider packing motion sickness medicine if you're sensitive to bumpy rides. In the afternoon, take a game drive around Lake Ithezi-Thezi to spot its large hippo population. You'll spend the night camping at Hippo Bay with basic but clean facilities. Bring a headlamp since the campsite gets very dark after sunset.

    Central Kafue

    Head north on the 'Spinal Road' to Kasabushi campsite. This takes 3-4 hours. Visit during dry season since the roads can be difficult in the rainy months (November-April). These days offer excellent wildlife viewing near the Kafue River. Watch for antelopes in early morning and lions in the cooler late afternoon.     Northern Kafue at Mayukuyuku

    A 2-hour drive takes you to Mayukuyuku Camp, known for wild dog sightings. Wildlife gathers at the river crossings, especially in dry season. One visitor shared: "The waterhole near camp attracted elephants every evening - we could watch them while preparing dinner at our campsite.     Return to Lusaka
