Itinerary
- Day 1
Lusaka to Itezhi-Tezhi
You'll drive from Lusaka through the countryside for about 326 km along the M9 highway and D69 road toward Kafue National Park. The route takes you through scenic areas before reaching Itezhi-Tezhi town, where you'll check into a hillside lodge with views out over Lake Itezhi-Tezhi. After settling in, dinner includes an introduction to stargazing and learning about constellations you can see in Zambian skies.

Kafue National Park Wildlife & Stargazing
Following breakfast, head out to Ngoma Game Management Area for a wildlife safari to see animals in their natural setting. You have the option to visit the Elephant Orphanage Centre if interested (contributions are welcome). Lunch comes next, then you'll explore Nkala and Ngoma Game Management Areas with a focus on the river loops. The afternoon gives you free time to relax at the lodge, and by evening you'll join an expert guide for stargazing. You'll learn about Southern Hemisphere constellations like the Southern Cross, planets, star clusters, and nebulae.

Longola Hot Springs, Itezhi-Tezhi & Stargazing
Head to Iyanda Village in the morning to visit Longola Hot Springs and walk through the lush surroundings in a peaceful environment. You'll return to the lodge for some relaxation time, then take a casual walk around Itezhi-Tezhi with views of the lake. Lunch follows, after which you'll go on an afternoon game drive through southern Kafue National Park with an expert who can point out wildlife and share insights. Dinner is served in a quiet setting, and the evening includes a stargazing session featuring the Southern Cross and telescope viewing.

Itezhi-Tezhi to Livingstone
After breakfast, check out and begin your drive back to Livingstone. The route takes you along scenic gravel roads through Kafue National Park, and you may spot wildlife during the journey. You'll stop in Kalomo for lunch at a local restaurant, then continue driving to Livingstone, arriving in the late afternoon.
