What people love about Bicycle Tours in Costa Brava
- Medieval Villages Cycling Holiday (Easy to Moderate)
We had an amazing 6 day tour this August (2018) in the Costa Brava region. The weather was quite hot (32-35 C or 90-95 F every day) and we were traveling with our three teenage kids. Nevertheless, everyone had a great time! The itinerary is very well planned out, with most of the riding on cycle paths, dirt roads, or very minor paved roads with virtually no car traffic. The scenery ranged from peaceful farmland to the gorgeous coast, with some optional rugged hills on the last day. We visited archeological sites, medieval villages, and upscale beach towns. Another nice thing about the itinerary were several days with optional loop rides, which was good for those of us who wanted a bit more riding. The map and cycle network is so good that you can easily add little loops of 5-10+ km to the planned itinerary if you want. The hotels were all very nice by any standard. We especially enjoyed the last stay in Monells. We arrived in Girona by train, had an easy walk to the hotel there, and they met us the next morning with the bikes. Our luggage was transported on time every day and the hotels were used to Creative Catalonia, which made it even easier. Bikes are stored in locked garages at the hotels. We had no trouble and everything was very easy. I will absolutely recommend this tour to friends!
- Best of Catalonia Cycling Holiday (Easy to Moderate)
We signed up with Creative Catalonia to ride the Costa Brava in Cataluyna Spain. And we are so glad we did. This was by far he best bike excursion company we have used. It is by far the most personal. Daniel makes you feel like part of the Catalonia family. He picked up up at our hotel, gave us our bikes and a Garmin with a cell phone preloaded with the routes, and told us he would see us 6 days hence. All routes were easy follow, hotels were really great, and right on time for the pickup. We especially liked the Monells stop for 2 nights in the medieval portion of the ride. We even rode a leg of stage 6 of the 2009 Tour de France from S’garo to Tossa de Mar. Beautiful views of the Mediterranean, but oh this hills!!! A congratulatory T-Shirt at the end of the tour waited us. We highly recommend Creatice Catalonia Bike Tours. Daniel and Lucy have built a great company and are really nice folks.
- Best of Catalonia Cycling Holiday (Moderate)
This was our first time to Spain and we were looking for a small, unique and guided tour of Catalonia near Girona. Dan (Daniel) met us and we commenced our tour, just my partner and I cycling from Ripoli to the Costa Brava. The scenery, cycling terrain, food stops for lunch and dinner were magnificent (all organised by Dan). The accommodation was amazing and we got to enjoy the most magical and unique places you could ever imagine. We have enjoyed alot of cycling in Europe (both self led and guided) Our tour with Dan remains a highlight, in terms of cycling, of our time in Spain and we look forward to joining Creative Catalonia for another tour.
