What people love about Private Tours in Mount Kilimanjaro
- Kilimanjaro Climbing Machame Route 7 Days 6 Nights
My girlfriend and I were looking for a safari that would include the major parks: Serengeti, Ngorongoro (going down into the Crater, not just the rim, is a MUST!), Lake Manyara, and Tarangire. Amos with Migration worked with us extensively to refine the itinerary and answer all of the questions we had. He was very responsive by email which helped put our minds at ease since we were about to pay a decent amount of money to people on another continent. Our guide, Erasto Ninah (he goes by just "Ninah") was fantastic and I highly recommend him if you're looking for someone to give you a great safari experience. During our tour we saw around 100 elephants (including two fighting/mating), 3 cheetahs, around 20 lions (again, go to Ngorongoro!), 3 black rhinos, dozens of water buffalo, around 100 hippos and countless other animals. We saw a pair of lions hunting a pack of wildebeest and zebra. And Ninah's experience was invaluable throughout. He has a degree in wildlife management and was an encyclopedia of knowledge about the habits and behavior of each animal we saw. On a couple of occasions there were a group of land cruisers parked as close as they could to a lion (on one occasion) and a cheetah (on the other). Ninah said he was going to park away from that group, because the animal was likely to come to the spot he picked out. Because of that, we saw both animals walk RIGHT in front of our car and got some amazing pictures from it. On one day, the land cruiser started rattling badly on the right front tire. He dropped us off at an information center and came back an hour later. We asked what had been the problem and he said "the axle broke, but I fixed it". He's tour guide, expert driver (those roads are rough!), mechanic, and whatever else the situation calls for. It gave us a lot of piece of mind to have someone that could handle whatever came up. We really enjoyed chatting with him too and hearing his insights on the parks, the animals, conservation, Tanzanian culture, and everything else. He made this a trip to remember.
- 6-Day Marangu Route: A Classic Trek to the Roof of Africa-kilimanjaro treking
Edward “Teacher” Lazaro, owner and leader of Kwesa Tours and his fine team led our family and friends to the summit of Kilimanjaro! Our group of 20 from the U.S. (IL, CO and TX) selected the Marangu route because it is the only route where you use huts for the ascent and descent and we generally had a crew with no climbing experience. Teacher is a fascinating, principled, man who truly cares about his clients (we now call him our friend) and those values translate to his whole team. Bottom line: Teacher and his KWESA team took care of us from start to finish, focused on our self care and achieving our goal - get to the top!… safely. They provided support, preparation, briefings, nutrition (compliments to the cooks), hydration, and friendly encouragement throughout the trip. The trek was culturally and environmentally interesting, safe, fun, yet challenging … with no technical climbing. I highly recommend Kilimanjaro Wonders Expeditions.
- 6 Day Machame Route | Kilimanjaro Climbing
Actually, On 13th of Dec I booked Kilimanjaro mount trekking via Machame Route with my family. The volunteers were so amazing and helpful. Looking forward to doing more tours with you. My experience with Migration Venture Africa was nothing but positive. Looking forward for some more trips.
What our customers ask about Private Tours & Trips in Mount Kilimanjaro
When is the best time to take a Private tour of Mount Kilimanjaro?
The dry seasons from January to March and June to October provide the most reliable conditions for a Private Mount Kilimanjaro trek. These periods offer clear visibility and stable trail conditions particularly on the Lemosho and Rongai Routes. A January climber with Migration Venture Africa reported "The weather was glorious on summit day." For those seeking quieter trails the Marangu Route sees fewer visitors during early June or late October while maintaining good climbing conditions.
What different route options are available for Private Kilimanjaro climbs?
Private climbers can choose from several established routes on Kilimanjaro each with distinct characteristics. The Lemosho Route spans 8 days through varied ecosystems. The Rongai Route takes 6-7 days on a less traveled path. The Machame Route requires 6-7 days on well-maintained trails while the Marangu Route offers a 5-6 day journey. A seasoned climber noted about Rongai: "I have done Machame and others and did not find the scenery as amazing as the other side but it offers a different view of the mountain."
What accommodation options are available on Private Kilimanjaro tours?
Accommodation varies by route on Private Kilimanjaro expeditions. Most paths including Lemosho and Machame use designated camping areas with quality expedition tents. The Marangu Route provides access to permanent mountain huts. Climbers begin and end their journey at hotels like the Altezza Lodge in Moshi. One climber shared: "The campsites were always ready for us when we arrived with hot water-bottle-bunnies given to us each night at bedtime to keep us warm."
What's included in the meals during a Private Kilimanjaro climb?
Mountain chefs prepare three daily meals plus snacks throughout Private Kilimanjaro climbs. The menu includes continental breakfasts trail lunches and hot dinners served in mess tents at camps like Horombo Hut and Barafu Camp. The kitchens accommodate dietary needs including vegetarian vegan and halal options. A recent climber noted: "The food was fantastic. Nesta made different meals at every seating making the trek feel like a 5-star experience on the mountain."
How many guides and porters typically accompany a Private Kilimanjaro climb?
Private expeditions maintain a ratio of 1-2 professional guides per 2 climbers plus 2-3 porters per person. A typical Rongai Route team includes 14 staff members for two climbers covering guides porters and cooking staff. One climber shared: "Our guides Baraka and Ally were awesome. They matched our pace since we were a little faster than average and managed the porters really well."
How do Private tours handle altitude acclimatization?
Acclimatization follows established protocols on Private Kilimanjaro climbs. The routes incorporate strategic elevation changes such as the Machame Route's climb to Lava Tower at 4640m followed by descent to Barranco Camp at 3960m. Guide teams conduct health checks twice daily monitoring oxygen levels. A recent participant noted: "Our guide had a Pulse Oximeter and took blood-oxygen level readings twice daily to ensure our safety."
