What people love about Hiking & Trekking Tours in Mount Everest
- Everest Base Camp Trek
We cannot recommend the team at Alpine Ramble highly enough for any trekking that you wish to do in Nepal. Being first time multi-day trekkers, we were very nervous. But the day before our trek began, Dil took the time to meet with us, get to know a bit more about us and to discuss the itinerary. He also answered any questions we had and immediately made us feel a lot more comfortable and prepared. We were very impressed by his professionalism, warmth and kindness. Unfortunately, due to VERY bad weather in the mountains, we were unable to make it to base camp. But our guide (Dilman) and porter (Anil) kept us safe and took us an alternate route still with AMAZING views of the Annapurna ranges. They were so accomodating, kind and patient with us throughout the whole trek. By the end of the trip, they were no longer our guide and porter, but our good friends. We also got to learn more about the Nepalese/Gurung culture and language from our Guru master, Anil HAHA. The mountains were so serene, the food was delicious and the tea houses were clean and comfortable. Dhanyabad to the Alpine Ramble Team, in particular Dil, Dilman and Anil, for making this such a wonderful experience for us. Pheri Bhetaunla brothers.
- Everest Base Camp Trek + Two way Flights (fully guided tour)
I'm so happy i found these guys, Obviously been doing this for a while, they made us feel so comfortable and relaxed, really took care of all our needs and added so much humour to what I thought was going to be a terribly hard trek. Yes the walking is tough but they sorted our flights, transport, accommodation food you mention it they will jump to please. Shailesh our tour operator is amazing makes you feel like one of the family and Mr Nawin our guide, we'll, I miss this guy everyday- you made our trip special bro.
- Everest 3 High Pass Trekking
Did the Three Passes in March in 2020 and Basu went above and beyond to coordinate the ever changing logistics brought upon by new travel restrictions with my guide while we were on the trek. While I was stuck in Nepal waiting for a flight home, he made sure I was well taken care of made sure to keep morale high. I can't wait to come back and do another trek with Nepal Social Treks.
What our customers ask about Hiking & Trekking Tours & Trips in Mount Everest
What is the best time of year to trek to Everest Base Camp?
The optimal periods for Everest Base Camp treks fall between March to May and October to November. During spring (March-May) the trails come alive with blooming rhododendrons while autumn (October-November) brings stable weather and clear mountain views. At the Everest View Hotel in Namche Bazaar temperatures range from 15-20°C (59-68°F) in these periods creating comfortable hiking conditions.
How physically demanding is the Everest Base Camp trek?
The trek requires solid physical preparation with daily hikes of 6-8 hours over 12-14 days at elevations from 2800m to 5545m. The route presents significant challenges such as the steep climb to Namche Bazaar (3440m) and navigation of the Khumbu Glacier near Base Camp. Guides recommend a minimum of 3-4 months of cardiovascular training before starting the trek to handle the demanding terrain and altitude changes.
What kind of accommodation can I expect during the trek?
Accommodation along the trail consists mainly of teahouses and lodges. Before departing places like Hotel Thamel Park in Kathmandu offer modern comforts. The teahouses provide twin rooms with shared dining spaces and bathrooms. Higher locations such as Gorak Shep (5164m) offer more basic lodging with communal facilities and minimal heating options.
What meals are included on Everest Base Camp treks?
Tour packages typically cover three daily meals blending Nepali Tibetan and Western cuisine. Morning starts with simple but filling options like porridge eggs and toast. Evening meals feature local staples such as dal bhat (rice and lentils) along with noodles and soups. The teahouses around Namche Bazaar are particularly known for their varied menu options though food costs tend to rise with elevation.
How are porters and luggage arrangements handled during the trek?
Tours generally assign one porter for every two trekkers with a 15kg per person limit. The Lukla flight restricts luggage to 10kg checked and 5kg carry-on. While porters handle main bags trekkers carry daypacks with essential items. Companies like G Adventures help arrange storage for extra belongings at Kathmandu hotels such as Hotel Marshyangdi.
What level of altitude sickness prevention is provided during the trek?
The trek includes strategic rest days for acclimatization particularly at Namche Bazaar (3440m) and Dingboche (4410m). Guides use oximeters to check oxygen levels and adjust hiking speeds as needed. Tour packages include medical support and evacuation services with guides trained to recognize and respond to altitude-related issues.
