- Simone· March 4th, 2025We booked a trek for beginning of february. All contact before trek was good, our preferences were considered and acknowledged. The price is also very good considering what’s included, however knowing what I know now I wouldn’t have chosen Hymalayan recreation for my trek. The guide was not what we hoped for. He did not speak much, walked behind us a lot and was on his phone often. Understandable if you have done the trek so many times but unfortunate for us. Also not very clear at communicating. The worst was when flights out of lukla were cancelled and we were given two options: 1. Fake altitude sickness to get a medical helicopter (aka commit insurance fraud) or 2. A 24 hour plus jeep ride for 550 dollars. Said to be no other options. Except for, after a lot of asking, a 5000 dollar helicopter flight. I wil spare the details but eventually, after arranging everything ourselves (guide just said: I’m just a guide, call the company(whom did not answer our calls) we arranged heli ourselves for under 500 dollars. Because our flight was delayed, our package had ended (meaning we had to pay a bill afterwards). Makes perfect sense ofcourse, bur our guide did not tell us about it. Just communicate with us, don’t tell us ‘you should have known’. You can’t do that. It was not a very nice way to end this adventure, and we’re quite mad about that. The trek itself is beautiful though. I would choose a longer version so you can enjoy it a bit more as it’a a demanding hike on your body.Show moreTrip date: February 2025
- David· October 9th, 2024I recently returned from the Everest Base Camp trek, and I cannot recommend the experience enough—especially thanks to my incredible guide, Sengi. From the moment we met, Sengi’s warmth, knowledge, and passion for the mountains shone through. He went above and beyond to ensure not only my safety but also that I fully immersed myself in the beauty and culture of Nepal. Sengi’s knowledge of the terrain and local customs was remarkable, but what truly set him apart was his attention to detail and care for me on the trek. Whether it was checking on my altitude acclimatization or sharing stories about Sherpa culture, he made every day special. His genuine kindness and patience helped me push through the more challenging parts of the trek with confidence. Thanks to Sengi, I felt supported every step of the way on the trek and was able to fully appreciate the awe-inspiring beauty of Everest. If you're considering this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, I highly recommend this agency, and especially Sengi as your guide!Show moreTrip date: August 2024
- Himalayan· January 12th, 2024We just back from our memorable 11 days Everest Base camp trek with Himalayan Recreation team, they are well organising and dud everything possible to make our trip success. The foods, accommodation, Guides and other arrangements were perfectly managed. Very thanks for guide and his kindness for helping us in time during the EBC trek. Highly recommended Himalayan Recreation team for any kind of trip in Nepal.Show moreTrip date: January 2024
- XYXiaochun· January 1st, 2020It was a fantastic experience for me to travel with the tour guide Ransit from Himalayan Recreation in the remote area of Nepal. Ashok, the tour organizer, is a honest person and did great work for arranging the whole tour.Show moreTrip date: November 2019
- KDKevin· December 4th, 2019I was part of a group of three that trekked to Everest Base Camp in November 2019 with Himalayan Rec. We came across this company through some research on TourRadar, a popular platform for a lot of trekking tours. Himalayan Rec had great reviews and offered exactly what we were looking for. We reached out to several different trekking companies prior to booking but felt that Himalayan Rec had the quickest response time, thoroughly answered all of our questions/concerns and provided flexibility, all while offering one of the best prices. One thing to note is that most of the EBC trekking companies provide more or less the same services, over the same route, with the same facilities but tend to charge largely different prices. The price we paid Himalayan Rec was very transparent and we felt that we got a fantastic bang for our buck. I was initially in contact with the company’s manager, Ashok. Even though we did not start the trek until a few days after our arrival in Nepal, Ashok and his team went above and beyond to accommodate us as soon as we landed in Kathmandu. They provided us with airport pick-up service, helped us navigate around the city and provided a wealth of information to make us feel more than welcome. We trekked with the company’s guide Santosh, who quickly became a close member of our trekking group. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, experienced, well-known around the tea houses (I cannot stress the importance of this) and quickly tended to anything we needed (extra blankets, water, equipment, etc.). We even had an emergency change of plans mid-trek which required us to return to Kathmandu a day early but Santosh was easily able to accommodate the changes all while getting us up to EBC. He booked us a helicopter out of EBC, an earlier flight out of Lukla, set us up with a last minute hotel in Kathmandu, and provided complementary car service back to the airport. All in all, I am more than pleased with the experience I had with Himalayan Rec. They went above and beyond to ensure that everyone in our group had an unbelievable experience. I would 100% recommend their services on your trekking adventure. Whatever you are looking for, they’ll be sure to deliver.Show moreHimalayan Recreation Treks & Expedition Pvt.ltd commented on this reviewDear Client, Greetings from Nepal! - YKYevgeniy· October 25th, 2019We did 11-day trek to EBC with Narayan as a guide and Rahul as a porter. It was a great trip, guys knew their job. We never had any problems with accommodation or food on the trek (day before our start all flights to Lukla were cancelled creating overcrowding on the trail). We strongly recommend Narayan as a guide. Should say that we have some vulnerability before trek. Company didn't provide any information about the trek in advance (no welcome, no itinerary, tips etc. - all the info that can be helpful) so we need to spend a lot of time in the Internet. This was not a first time we travel in different countries and usually companies were providing good detailed package about all aspects of the trip. Time to time we asked questions online and were receiving answers - but very short, not detailed. This matter was discussed with company manager Ashok when we arrived in Kathmandu and he assured us the company will develop a guide. In general we strongly reccommend the company for the EBC trekShow moreHimalayan Recreation Treks & Expedition Pvt.ltd commented on this reviewDear Guest, Greetings from Nepal! - VSVen· June 22nd, 2019Nepal - A beautiful place Napalese - Wonderful people who want the best for you. accommodating, smiling and never complain about anything. What is different about the Trek- While going up you still go down. Lots ups and downs. Any one can do it, but you have to mentally ready and would want to do it. The guides accommodate your requirements and tastes and sincerely try to give you what you want. I asked for an helicopter and I got multiple of them the way I wanted it. Scenery: Guaranteed you have not seen anything like it and you will be wowed as much as you want be wowed. Soul Searching - When you are out with no autos and your brain processes scenery and let you think as a world citizen and you process life differently for sure. How to make sure you enjoy it - Take everything as it comes. It is up in the mountains. If you are getting anything less that is not because they don't want to give it to you, because that is the best they are able to do it. If Nepalese can give you rest assured they will. Go with an open mind and you will love it. It is harsh territory. What you there is amazing. I feel so blessed I can do this so easily because of everything given to me. I am quite sure 25 years ago it would not have been possible. Any one can do it. You should try it.Show moreTrip date: May 2019
- HHeather· June 16th, 2019This is the trip of a lifetime. We did the 11-day Everest Base Camp trek at the very end of May, a perfect time when the weather is pretty warm just before the monsoon season starts in June. The hike is pretty hard. You are walking mostly uphill/up steps for 5 to 8 hours a day, but the scenery is stunning and our guide Raju made it a lot of fun along the way. It's a real sense of accomplishment to get to the Everest Base Camp and then the top of Kala Pathar where there are gorgeous views of Everest and the surrounding mountains. The company picks you up from the airport in Kathmandu, which was really nice, and handles all of your internal flights to/from Lukla. They did a good job getting us on the first flight out of Lukla to make sure we could catch our evening flight later that day to Dubai. Raju, our guide, was a lot of fun. He quickly learned what we liked and tried to alter the trip to cater to our tastes and desires. He was also great at encouraging us at the points where we were tired and questioning how much further we could go. He was good at telling us to just take it slowly and that there was no race. He also explained a lot about Nepali history and culture and even showed us some Nepali card games to pass the time in the evenings. Our sherpa was super fast carrying our bags and joined us for some evening card games as well. The teahouses where we stayed were all pretty nice. This is not a luxury trip, but you get the basics. We were surprised that most places where we stayed had running toilets and hot showers. We ended up showering every other day. The food was also better than expected. Chicken was often available on the menu the first few days until we got really high up the mountain. Soups and Dal Bhat (the typical rice/curry/stew dish) were all pretty yummy. night. We recommend getting Diamox for the altitude as it will almost certainly hit you at some point on this trip. Also I lived in a long sleeve Merino wool shirt for much of the trip so I would recommend bring a few of those, even if you are hiking in warmer months of the year. It also still gets pretty cold at night.Show moreHimalayan Recreation Treks & Expedition Pvt.ltd commented on this reviewDear Guest, Greetings from Nepal! Asked on October 23rd, 2024I want to know what time had to arrive at Feb 15 and Feb 25 Return time (approximately) so I can adjust with fight time and leave day from my work.
- Himalayan Recreation Treks & Expedition Pvt.ltdOperator•Written October 2024
If you're planning to start the trek on Saturday, 15th February 2025, you should aim to arrive in Kathmandu on 14th February or very early in the morning on the 15th. Typically, flights from Kathmandu to Lukla depart between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM, so it is essential to be in Kathmandu beforehand. As for the return, the trek is usually completed around the morning of 25th February, but please be aware that flights from Lukla are often subject to delays due to weather conditions. I recommend keeping an extra buffer day after the trek, just in case of any delays in the Lukla-Kathmandu flight.

Asked on August 16th, 2024Do you have any recommendations of any specialised gear that I might need to bring or any additional luggage that could be required? Also what is the general fitness level of people that go on this hike?
- Himalayan Recreation Treks & Expedition Pvt.ltdOperator•Written August 2024
For the Everest Base Camp trek, you'll need to bring some specialized gear to ensure a safe and comfortable journey. Here are some essential items: Trekking Boots: Sturdy, waterproof, and well-broken-in boots are crucial. Warm Clothing: Layers are important. Pack thermal base layers, a down jacket, and a good quality windproof and waterproof jacket. Sleeping Bag: A 4-season sleeping bag that can handle temperatures down to -10°C (14°F) is recommended. Trekking Poles: Useful for stability on uneven terrain. Headlamp/Flashlight: With extra batteries. Personal First Aid Kit: Including altitude sickness tablets, blister treatment, and any personal medications. Sunglasses and Sunscreen: For protection against the strong sun and high altitude. Water Bottle/Hydration System: To stay hydrated. In terms of additional luggage, make sure you have a durable duffel bag for your trekking gear and a daypack for daily essentials. The Everest Base Camp trek is a challenging hike with significant altitude gain. Most trekkers who successfully complete the trek have a moderate to high fitness level. It is beneficial to engage in regular cardiovascular and strength training exercises in the months leading up to your trek. Hiking regularly and gradually increasing your stamina and endurance will be helpful.
