10 Days in Hawaii, incl. Oahu and Maui
Three islands unfold across O'ahu, Big Island, and Maui on this captivating tour. Highlights include USS Arizona Memorial, Kilauea volcano, and Iao Valley's 2,000-foot needle. Luxurious stays await at Prince Waikiki, Outrigger Kona Resort, and Sheraton Maui Resort.
- Days 1-3
Oahu
Your Hawaiian adventure begins in Honolulu. Visit Pearl Harbor first thing in the morning before 8 AM to avoid crowds and heat. The USS Arizona Memorial tour takes about 75 minutes. Remember to leave large bags at your hotel since they aren't allowed at the memorial. "Getting to Pearl Harbor early was key - we arrived by 7:30 AM and had a much more peaceful experience before the crowds picked up around 9." Explore historic downtown Honolulu and visit Iolani Palace. "Book the guided tour instead of self-guided - the docents share incredible stories about the royal family that aren't in the displays." End your day at the Pali Lookout for beautiful views but bring a light jacket for the strong winds.
- Days 4-6
Big Island
A quick 45-minute flight takes you from Honolulu to Hilo. Start at Rainbow Falls in the morning to see the sun create rainbows in the mist. When visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, wear sturdy closed-toe shoes with good grip on the sharp volcanic terrain. "The steam vents can be really hot and sulfuric - stay upwind and don't get too close." Visit Kona's coffee farms in the morning before it gets too hot. Bay View Farm offers an excellent tour with exclusive private reserve samples. Head to Honaunau Bay between 1-3 PM when the water is calmest for the best snorkeling.
- Days 7-10
Maui
Base yourself in the Kaanapali Beach area. If you're doing the Road to Hana, leave by 7 AM to avoid tour buses. The road has 620 curves and 59 bridges, so pack motion sickness medication. "We thought we'd do it ourselves but were so glad we took a guided tour - the driver knew exactly where to stop and when to avoid the crowds." Visit Iao Valley in the morning since afternoons often bring rain. For Kaanapali Beach activities, plan on mornings when the water is calmer. The surf usually picks up after 2 PM.
10 Day Hawaii Itinerary, incl. Oahu, Maui and Kauai
This 10-day island-hopping tour spans Honolulu's Pearl Harbor, Maui's Haleakala volcano, and Kauai's Napali Coast. The itinerary features Waimea Canyon, Diamond Head treks, and peaceful floats through Lihue Plantation canals. Guests enjoy 15 meals and premium stays at Marriott properties.
- Days 1-2
Oahu
Start your journey in Honolulu and make your way to Waikiki Beach. Plan to climb Diamond Head before 8AM to beat crowds and heat. The 1.6-mile round trip takes about 2 hours and wears sturdy shoes for the uneven steps and gravel. For Pearl Harbor visits book the 7:30AM tour. Most tickets are gone by 9AM and you'll need about 75 minutes for the USS Arizona Memorial.
- Days 3-5
Maui
Want to see a spectacular sunrise? Head to Haleakala summit. You'll need to leave around 3AM to reach the 10,023-foot peak before dawn. Bring lots of warm clothes since temperatures can drop to 40°F even in summer. When you visit Lahaina use the outlet mall parking for better Front Street access. Stop by the giant banyan tree around 4-5PM for beautiful photos in the filtered light. The Road to Hana needs planning. Download the GyPSy Guide app since cell service isn't reliable. Leave by 7AM for the 10-12 hour loop so you can enjoy your stops. Remember to book Waianapanapa State Park's black sand beach in advance ($10 parking fee).
- Days 6-9
Kauai
Book morning Napali Coast boat tours when the water is calmer and sit at the back if you get seasick. Visit Waimea Canyon lookouts before 10AM when clouds usually appear. The Hanapepe Swinging Bridge only allows 5 people at once so go early to avoid lines. Going tubing at Lihue Plantation? They provide helmets with lights for dark tunnels. Wear clothes that dry fast and good water shoes. If you want to try surfing spend your free day at Hanalei Bay where morning waters are perfect for beginners.
- Day 10
Departure
8 Days in Hawaii, incl. Honolulu and Maui
Six stunning destinations from Honolulu to Maui showcase Pearl Harbor Memorial, USS Arizona Memorial, and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The 8-day tour includes stays at Outrigger Kona Resort and traditional luaus at Keauhou Bay.
- Days 1-2
Honolulu, Oahu
Start your morning at Waikiki Beach before the crowds fill the sand. Head to Pearl Harbor by 7:30 AM to avoid tour groups and hot weather. "Pearl Harbor was moving and unforgettable - just get there early as it gets very crowded by mid-morning." Take a walking tour through downtown Honolulu to see Iolani Palace and the King Kamehameha I statue. Book your hotel near Kalakaua Avenue to be close to restaurants and shops.
- Days 3-5
Big Island
Take a morning flight to Hilo to avoid afternoon storms. Explore Hawaii Volcanoes National Park with sturdy shoes since the volcanic ground is rough and slick. Visit Punalu'u Beach in the early morning to see green sea turtles and walk on the black sand before it heats up. Learn about volcanic soil and coffee production at a Kona coffee plantation. "The night manta ray experience was incredible - they came right up to the viewing area at Keauhou Bay. Definitely worth staying up late for."
- Days 6-8
Maui
The Kona to Maui flight takes about 45 minutes. Visit Iao Valley State Park in the morning before clouds gather. Get to Ka'anapali Beach by 8 AM to secure beach chairs. You might want to see the sunrise at Haleakala but bring warm clothes for the 10,000-foot elevation. It's a 2-hour drive from most hotels.
What people love about 10-day Hawaii tours
- Hawaiian Explorer
Fun trip, Trafalgar tour guide and health director did a wonderful job guiding and managing the trip. Oahu / Honolulu is way too crowded and busy, Waikiki beach was fun. Restaurants moving to 50% occupancy was a drag, but it’s a COVID world we live in now. All in all good experience.
- Best of the Hawaiian Islands
My review is better than good but not quite excellent. Our tour director Pam was very good about disseminating information to our group, getting us where and when we needed to be, and sharing local knowledge about the areas we visited. She made everything flow smoothly. One of the hotels left a little to be desired, but for 3 days was bearable. The travel between islands was a little tedious, but all in all bearable. I am happy that we did this trip. The Hawaii'n Islands are unique and beautiful and we were given a taste of what life is like there. We'll just have to visit again. Thank you Pam, and Globus.

GIVE is an incredible organization filled with the most amazing people and the experience changed my life. I went on my first GIVE trip to Hawaii and met lifelong friends, made a difference through the wonderful nonprofits we worked with and learned so much in just 8 days! The guides are so wonderful and make everyone feel like family!
