- Annie· June 23rd, 2025Rabbie's excellent tour guide. Great meeting people from other countries. Accommodation was good. I just wish there were more people from the trip sharing the accommodation. As a solo traveller I felt isolated. Apart fro that great itinerary really good tour guide Jim Divine.Show moreTrip date: June 2025
- PKPatricia· June 16th, 2025Excellent tour with lots of interesting sites and towns. Ian, our driver and guide was absolutely the best. He knew the history of each location and area, told lots of stories, and had a great sense of humour. He was so knowledgeable and answered all questions asked of him. He made sure we knew where to go, when to meet, and checked us into our accommodations. Give him a raise!!!Show moreTrip date: June 2025
- PBPatrick· June 9th, 2025Our driver/tour director Michael was absolutely awesome. Such a knowledgeable young man and ohhhhh so very entertaining. A true Scottish gem he was. Michael took us safely to the most remarkable places in the Highlands, I will never forget this adventure, The B&Bs were so outstanding, you really felt part of the land,, wonderful all of them.Show moreTrip date: May 2025
- Stephen· June 5th, 2025Excellent Tour overall. Michael our guide was excellent and very entertaining and caring. Good party too - all looked after me with my age and mobility problems. Saw and learned much. Accommodation great except the room in Stornaway was very small and located upstairs without steps. Hospitality excellent. Sad that the Callandish Stones could nt be visited although we did see them from afar. But other sites were great and with only one morning only in rain we saw them at their best.Show moreTrip date: May 2025
- APAnne· May 16th, 2025The 6 Day Outer Hebrides Tour was simply amazing! We loved every minute of the tour and trip. Our tour guide, Iain Murray was excellent. He was very very knowledgeable of Scottish History and the land. The timing and pacing of the tour was perfect. We felt very safe with his driving. He was helpful, friendly and entertained us with a plethora of local folklore, and historical stories. I would book with this tour guide again in a heartbeat. We were on 3 different tours, (2 with Rabbies), and this tour was by far the best! The group of 16 travellers were all friendly and interested. It was a good mix from all over the world. We continue to keep in touch online and share photos with each other. Iain also grew up on the Island, and took us to local places, sharing with us his knowledge of growing up there with lots of great stories. The Beaches on Harris are among the best in the world. The scenery in both Harris and Lewis are breathtaking and cannot be beat. Rabbies booked our accommodations in various hotels and B&B's. All excellent, with friendly hospitality. This tour with Iain and Rabbies pretty much spoiled us from ever booking with another tour company. Thanks so much to both Iain and Rabbies for such a great trip and lots of fond memories! Cannot wait for another trip to Scotland. Maybe the Orkney's next time! Anne McMullan PirkerShow moreTrip date: May 2025
- GOGreg· September 7th, 2024Bruce was a great guide. He was thoughtful, helpful and regaled us with historical stories about scottish killing, drinking, killing, a bit more drinking and more killing! He was conscious of our safety and always gave good advice, i.e. don't fall off any cliffs! It was a great tour, with a good mix of people from around the world, good accommodation at B&Bs and a bit of The Proclaimers thrown in for good measure!Show moreTrip date: September 2024
- FBFrances· August 16th, 2024This was an excellent tour of the outer Hebrides, along with some stops on the mainland to and from Edinburgh. It was pretty packed with things to see, and we covered a lot of ground. Special thanks to our tour guide Bruce who's very entertaining mix of history, folk tales, and unfailingly amusing commentary on random stuff along the way made the long drives particularly enjoyable. The accommodations arranged by Rabbie's were good, and everywhere had been notified of my dietary issues (coeliac) and provided gf options for breakfasts.Show moreTrip date: July 2024
- Christine· July 27th, 2024Highly recommended tour. Our tour guide, Michael, made the experience a million times better with his extensive knowledge, his hilarious stories and his willingness to go above and beyond for his passengers. Michael was brilliant.Show moreTrip date: July 2024
- JKJennifer· July 15th, 2024We had Jim B. as our driver and loved him. We thought he had a great sense of humor and was really knowledgeable about history and the locations we were going to. - But there was a lot lacking with other factors of the trip. The bus was a rather small, cramped and unpleasant experience, it would have been more comfortable if they designed them as 13 passenger instead of 16 passenger vehicle (taking out a row). The joke we made afterwards was that the designer took notes from Ryanair. To boot, the windows rattled and shuddered a lot and it was kind of annoying. - Anyone taking these tours should also make their own arrangements with hotels or B&Bs. We let Rabbie's set it up for us thinking they vetted the establishments but they do not, they only assign you to who returns first saying they have availability to take you. Each place we had was far from the town centers and the first place's room in Ullapool was so tiny, and the bathroom felt like some sort of cruel joke (I've seen coffins with more elbow room than the shower had). Beware of getting assigned to the Harbour House! That said, the Twenty Seven in Stornaway was great though regardless of the location (not as far out as some of the B&Bs were), and the proprietor was amazing, too. But, then the one in Portree (Skye Haven) was mostly alright, but didn't offer a hot breakfast and was far distance from town. - Sadly and most importanly, another thing I felt was lacking was the destinations. Most spots you are only allowed off the bus for a few minutes at a time for some quick pictures, and the driver doesn't (seem to) have the authority to skip stops if its raining. The Storr was completed fogged over and he kept trying to stop, and then took us all the way up through the Quiraing Mountains and it was fogged over (and then downpoured on us) and most people didn't even get off the bus there. Then, our group accidently took too long at another destination later in the day, and that prevented us from going to an optional museum that would have been a way better stop (out of the rain) than fogged over mountains. - Also just a note that is not Rabbie's or Jim's fault in it, but, just something to consider when booking a trip like this, is they only handled two lunch locations, but otherwise do not handle any arrangements for your lunches and dinners, so, something that needs to be stressed is that because of the times most things close on the islands; restaurants either close down or are crowded by 5pm. It felt like we ate Tesco sandwiches and generic takeaway a lot. People were talking about getting an email about making reservations at places ahead of time but I never saw an email like that. Regardless, do your research ahead of time and know the general lay of the land and the times and locations of places you would like to try to eat, or else your long walk into town is made even longer still with circling blocks trying to find someplace you'd like that's open and serving.Show moreTrip date: July 2024
- Helen· July 15th, 2024Donald's knowledge of history, facts, best scenery, places to go was exceptional. We saw so many wonderful towns, villages, beaches and perfect little gems on our tour. Lived every minute.Show moreTrip date: July 2024

Asked on June 17th, 2025Will we be able to access the Calanais Stone Circle on the July 6-11,2025 tour?
- Rabbie's ToursOperator•Written June 2025
Yes I'm afraid the Calanais Standing Stones are closed until Spring 2026 so we won't be able to visit there on our 2025 tours.

Asked on May 23rd, 2025I have just read the brochure on line - sadly I cannot print this. Could I have a copy when I arrive at boarding please. Further, I am sad to see that you do suggest we may not see the Calanais Stone Circle - perhaps the main feature for me to see. I understood they would become available for the 2025 season. Can we at least pass them please for a photo or two?
- Rabbie's ToursOperator•Written May 2025
Thanks for this information, I have updated your booking now! Just a reminder you will need to come to the bus station in Edinburgh to begin the tour. The departure time is 08:30am and check in closes at 8:15am.

Asked on March 7th, 2025If I book this Rabies tour via TourRadar understand you will be booking my accommodation with BnBs and some of the reviews have very negative comments about the quality, so how can you guarantee reasonable quality and location?
- Rabbie's ToursOperator•Written March 2025
Yes if you book this tour package we will book all your accommodation during the tour, and this is included in the tour cost. We regularly check our accommodation suppliers to make sure they are of a high standard. There are limited options with regard to accommodation in the remote towns in the North of Scotland, so it only B&Bs we are able to book for this tour. We don't tend to get negative feedback regarding the accommodation on this tour, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Asked on January 5th, 2025Is the tour fully guided or are we dropped off at different places to explore on our own? Also, how much walking is involved.
- Rabbie's ToursOperator•Written January 2025
Each driver-guide has different styles of guiding. Our tours have a driver-guide who drives and guides while en route. You'll get free time at stops to explore at your own pace. You can choose where to eat and how to spend time at locations without having to keep up with a guide or other travelers.

Asked on December 15th, 2024Would 6 people justify a private tour basically following this itinerary but with perhaps more pub stops along the way. We are 6 women 60-70 who think we are 50 and we love to party, dance ad sing with locals.
- Rabbie's ToursOperator•Written December 2024
Before I can send you a complete proposal and quote, I have a few questions that will help me tailor the tour to your preferences. Would you prefer to arrange your own accommodation for the tour, or would you like me to include it in your package? If you'd like us to handle the accommodation, could you please let me know your preferences regarding room types, star ratings, and any other specific requirements?
- K
Katrina
Traveler•Written December 2024A private tour based on your quote would be out of the question for this group. Would you offer choices in each overnight location, ie 3 star - 5 star
- Rabbie's ToursOperator•Written December 2024
For our small group tours; you will be able to select either a B&B (ensuite) package, or a Hotel (3-star) package. We don't book 4-star or 5-star hotels on our scheduled tours. We don't offer a choice of property as it will depend on our availability of allocated rooms at the time of booking. For this particular tour - the 6-Day Outer Hebrides & Skye - we only offer B&B packages, due to the limited options for hotels in Ullapool and Skye.
