- Raymond· November 18th, 2021Disappointed in the relative lack of local knowledge of the driver/coordinator. Dining options while in "travel mode" were poor (really, the best available was "fast food?") and group dining options in Anchorage (a foodie mecca) were poor. In other cases, dining arrangements were [Removed in Moderation] for a dinner and a breakfast. The coordinator's inadequate response? " Well it's shoulder season." Other than that, the trip was quite nice and accommodations quite adequate.Show moreTrip date: August 2021

Asked on October 30th, 2024Is the transportation by bus from here to there or by the wonderful train system Alaska has?
- National Geographic Journeys with G AdventuresOperator•Written October 2024
For this trip we use 15-passenger vans for up to 12 people plus the CEO(guide) and Driver. For groups of 8 and more travellers, we also use a trailer to carry luggage. These durable vehicles allow us to drive on most types of roads in North America. Each van has a front passenger seat and 4 benches that will accommodate 3 people each with mandatory seat belts to keep us secure and safe. This is not a physically demanding journey, but with limited space in the van, long drive days can be difficult. Please take note of the travel times and distances in the itinerary. There is air conditioning to cool things down on warm days to keep everyone more comfortable. Despite some of the long days, most travellers feel that the diversity of the North American landscape, culture, and wildlife are all well worth the experience!

Asked on September 17th, 2023I'd like to go to alaska with my husband next year in July. We are not sure which tour is best for us (we are 50, no children). We like comfort but we are active. Our dates are a bit flexible (first or second week to start the tour). What do you have available?

Asked on December 5th, 2022Is this a fully guided / managed tour? Will I have to arrange for transport or pickups etc? I would also like to add a trip to Katmai park / Brooks Falls if that is possible. Also it will be only 2 passengers. Please advise
- National Geographic Journeys with G AdventuresOperator•Written December 2022
This tour included a guide, or as we call them a CEO (Chief Experience Officer) throughout plus local guides in specific locations. Transportation, Hotels and most meals are included in this tour. Unfortunately I cannot see any optional activities to Brooks Falls included in this tour. This is an activity you will need to arrive early into Anchorage for and book independently.
- National Geographic Journeys with G AdventuresOperator•Written December 2022
The starting hotel we use in Anchorage is the Sheraton Hotel & Spa Anchorage. They have not made their hotel available to use to book pre-nights, but you can contact them directly to book pre-nights independently.

Asked on July 31st, 2022Can a extra day be added at front end to hotel on June 12th 2023? Do air flights need to be booked separately by me? What is cancellation policy?
- National Geographic Journeys with G AdventuresOperator•Written August 2022
We're unable to book any pre or post nights with the start/end hotel, but we can let you know where this will be, and give you the information to book directly with the accommodation. Yes, you must book your own flights to the destination. If you cancel before 30 days of your start date, we will keep 20% of the cost on file as a Lifetime Deposit to be used at a future date, if cancelling between 30-2 days, we will do the same plus 50% of the total cost will be fees. If cancelling within 2 days of the tour starting, there is 95% cancellation fees.

Asked on July 9th, 2022From the airport, where do we meet the tour?
- National Geographic Journeys with G AdventuresOperator•Written July 2022
Upon arrival on Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, which is located 6 miles (10km) from downtown Anchorage, you can take a public taxi to your joining hotel. Taxis are located right outside the main lobby or at the domestic terminal. Your CEO will organize a short meeting soon after arrival, during which you will meet other tour participants and receive information about general and specific aspects of the trip.
