Your Bangkok adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6 pm. If you're arriving early, you can head into Chinatown's lively streets or visit the Grand Palace to get oriented. Later, your leader takes you around Sukhumvit to try some street food stalls, and then you'll check out local bars to experience Bangkok's nightlife scene.

Bangkok to Chiang Mai
This is your free day in Bangkok before boarding the overnight train. By evening, you'll head to the station and settle in for the overnight journey to Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai
You'll arrive in Chiang Mai this morning and transfer to your guesthouse. After an orientation walk to get your bearings around town, the rest of the day is open. There's plenty to choose from: you could try ziplining, go cycling, take a cooking class, visit Doi Sethep Temple, or just wander around the cafes. In the evening, options include bar hopping or checking out the Nimman night markets.

The walk takes you along mountain ridges through natural forest, and by evening you'll have home-cooked dinner by the campfire and time to explore the village with locals.

Hilltribe Trek to Pong Ngan Lahu Village
This morning you'll wake to natural sounds in the jungle. After breakfast, you trek through farmland and jungle, stopping at different hilltribe villages to see how communities vary from each other. You'll have lunch somewhere along the way, and by afternoon you'll arrive at Pong Ngan Lahu Village where you can relax after two solid days of hiking before dinner.

Mae Taeng to Chiang Mai
You're heading to Mae Taeng River for a 2 to 3 hour kayaking adventure paddling through lush scenery toward Sop Kai Village. After that, you can either take a private transfer back to Chiang Mai for a relaxed evening, or go for whitewater rafting down the rapids if you want more adrenaline. Once back in the city, you'll refresh and either visit temples or hunt down the best local pad thai or khao soi.

Bangkok to Surat Thani
You'll visit Wat Pho, one of Bangkok's largest and oldest temples with the famous reclining Buddha and over a thousand Buddha images throughout the complex. Next, take a ferry across the Chao Phraya River to Wang Lang Market where you can explore food stalls, handicrafts, and clothes. After that, return by ferry and wander through the riverside Tha Maharaj district. By evening, you'll head to the station for your overnight train to Surat Thani.
