- Richard· May 9th, 2025Such an amazing tour! I had a great time exploring Rome, Florence and Venice. A special shout-out to our brilliant tour guides Anna and Elisa. Their local knowledge really enhanced the tour and I was always given great recommendations for things to do and food to try whether it was pasta, pizza, Italian bread or gelato (I ate a lot of gelato!) They were also so friendly and supportive and it was great to get to know them. Highlights of the tour included trying Carbonara in a Trattoria as part of our welcome dinner in Rome, exploring great architecture like the Colesseum and the Vatican and the day trip to Tuscany where we tried various different wines which felt like a proper Italian experience. But the best part was meeting so many great people throughout the tour from all around the world! Thank you Italy on a Budget tours! If you're exploring Italy, this group trip is definitely a great way to go and excellent value too!Show moreTrip date: May 2025

- Jenica· July 30th, 2024I did the 7 day tour of Rome, Florence, Cinque Terre and Venice. The original tour date I selected I was unable to participate in as there was no one else that had signed up for the date so I changed my tour to a week earlier. The communication from the staff was great before the trip, I just wished there was a more detailed itinerary given to us (ex. time or a tour or sights we would see). Since I had switched my dates I was hoping to meet lots of amazing people on the trip. It ended up being only myself and one other person (other than for the Cinque terre day trip) who was not interested in meeting anyone or going anything outside of the tour itself. When it came to meeting people it was way easier to meet people in the hostels you stay in. If you are hoping to meet people and make friends I would suggest just booking the hostels yourself and skipping the tour. The hostels that were booked for us were amazing! Nicest hostels I have stayed in my far! And it was nice that you did not have to worry about anything for the week as it was all organized for you. The tour guides were amazing! For the first half of the trip (Rome and Florence tours) I had Ned. He was so knowledgeable and genuinely wanted us to have the best time on the tours. I had such a fun few days with him and he even helped negotiate the price of a purse for me at the leather market in Florence! For the next half of the tour we had Marie. Marie was with us for the Cinque Terre day trip and for Venice. She was very kind and made sure to keep us safe as we were in many train stations (where pickpockets like to be). Both guides made sure to take lots of pictures!! Overall the tour was a good experience as you do not have to worry about planning anything out. If you have a few people you would like to spend time with it is a good option but if you are looking to meet other travellers I would recommend just booking the train tickets and hostels on your own.Show moreTrip date: July 2024

- ALucy Carroll· November 30th, 2023Giovanni made everyone feel at ease and was very welcoming, which helped create a great atmosphere amongst the group and friends were quickly made. He was very helpful in terms of suggestions and information during free time and also had many interesting stories and information on the areas we visited during the tour. Everything was very clear from the beginning. I feel I really got the full “amalfi coast experience” thanks to all of this!Show moreTrip date: August 2023Review collected by Italy on a Budget Tours

- Malaika· July 15th, 2022We had so much fun on this tour. It's amazing how much we saw in just a week! We learned a lot about the cultures and different types of food and paintings/architecture which was really cool. Emma/Jean/Francesca were amazing guides :) Pros: - most of the time we were by ourselves to do whatever we want - the 2 of us were the only ones on the tour lol - really affordable - hostels were all good, people were all friendly - the tour guides were locals and really passionate about their city Cons: - the optional activities are expensive and they were booked early in the morning :/ - there is only 2 dinners included - our Rome guide didn't put in time for lunch, so we were very hungry and walking for 4 hours in the heat. We also didn't have time to go to St. Peter's Basilica :/ - we only had an afternoon in Venice Overall, it was really memorable and I would recommend it :)Show moreItaly on a Budget Tours commented on this reviewYour enthusiasm is contagious! Asked on April 21st, 2025We are 66 and 76 years old is this your not good for us. We are fit and love to walk.
- Italy on a Budget ToursOperator•Written April 2025
The tour you mentioned is primarily designed for travelers aged 18 to 39, as the accommodation is mostly in shared hostel rooms. That said, we are not very strict with the age limit — travelers over 39 are always welcome as long as they are young at heart and comfortable with walking. However, please note that this specific tour runs only from April to October. We do offer another wonderful tour with a very similar itinerary, called 'My First Italian Adventure', which is available year-round, including the winter months. This tour is open to travelers of all ages, includes accommodation in centrally located hotels, and features a few additional inclusions for an even richer experience.

Asked on April 7th, 2025Does this include accomodations and meals. What is the quality of the hotels and restaurants? Please include names.
- Italy on a Budget ToursOperator•Written April 2025
Our package includes accommodation unless you choose the "tour only" option. As for meals, we include a welcome dinner in Rome and a welcome aperitivo in Florence. Other meals are not included unless otherwise specified, but not to worry, our guides are always happy to recommend local and affordable spots for delicious food throughout your trip. Accommodation is arranged in a mix of hostels and B&Bs, and we offer both shared and private options, depending on your preference. We work with top-rated, centrally located partners such as Yellow, Meininger, Plus, Anda, and others.

Unfortunately, we do not provide transfers from the airport. However, we can recommend reliable shuttle services or trains that connect the airport to the city center.

Asked on March 10th, 2025Would like to know if daily breakfast is included and if I can upgrade the accommodation
- Italy on a Budget ToursOperator•Written March 2025
Breakfast is not included in the tour price. The included meals for this experience are a Welcome Dinner in Rome, an Aperitivo in Florence, and a wine tasting in Chianti. There is an option to upgrade to hotel/B&B accommodation.

Asked on February 16th, 2025Do I need to book additional nights at hotels?

If you arrive earlier or wish to stay extra nights, you may need to book those accommodations separately.

Sandra
Asked on February 11th, 2025How strict are you with the ages? I will be 50 in May and am wondering if I can go on this tour?
- Italy on a Budget ToursOperator•Written February 2025
The group age for this tour is 18-39 as it's designed for students and backpackers mostly, offering a fast-paced itinerary and budget accommodation in shared or twin shared rooms at hostels. While we're happy to welcome guests of all ages who are young at heart, we'd like to highlight that the itinerary involves a lot of walking and has a more adventurous spirit, which some older travelers may find challenging. For a more relaxed alternative, I'd love to recommend another tour of ours, Your First Italian Adventure. This tour is open to adults of all age groups and visits the same beautiful destinations as the original tour you were considering. However, it offers additional inclusions, such as a Welcome Dinner, for example, and centrally located accommodations in hotels and B&Bs.

Melanie
Asked on February 4th, 2025was looking at spending 3 days each in Rome, Florence and Venice, are there any tour extensions for lack of a better phrase?
- Italy on a Budget ToursOperator•Written February 2025
This tour includes: 2 nights in Rome, 4 nights in Florence, 1 night in Venice. If you'd like to extend your stay, we can arrange extra nights in Rome and Venice before and after the tour to give you more time to explore. You can choose to explore independently, or we'd be happy to help organize activities and experiences to make the most of your time in each destination.

Asked on January 29th, 2025Is it possible to stay at 3* or 4* star hotels instead of hostels? And, what is cost increase? Is it possible to have 3 in a room?
- Italy on a Budget ToursOperator•Written January 2025
Or you could consider staying in a B&B which is similar to hotels in Italy
