- KVKim· October 17th, 2025Automatic translation available in English. View in EnglishHuge fine trip! Ideal for a first trip to Japan! Fine mix of active and quiet activities and also a fine mix of people (age and gender). Lots of room for own input. This extra activities are also highly recommended!Show more
The Dragon Trip commented on this reviewWe’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed your first trip to Japan and appreciated the balance of activities and group dynamics. It’s great that you also made the most of the optional experiences and hope to see you on another Dragon Trip in the future!Trip date: October 2025
Richard· October 10th, 2025The leader, Terry, was excellent and made the experience exceptional. The final accommodation, Arrow Hotel, was old, poor dining options and would not give out more than one key to a room. The person who I shared the room with and I had to coordinate ourselves having access by leaving the key at the desk or asking the desk to open the room door. There were also issues with checking in. The hostels were cleaner and offered more options than the Arrow hotel. Something closer to the final dinner location would have been better. We looked at options near the final dinner area and found several stay options that would have been much better. This is the main reason why the review was less than stellar.Show more

Megumi San always knew how to tour the guide while taking us visitor’s well being into consideration. Everything was done on time and with much time to explore and learn. Asked on September 8th, 2025Is it still possible to book the tea ceremony with a geisha and a train ticket back Tokyo on the last day? And if so, how much would it be?
The Dragon TripOperator•Written September 2025There's no more availability for you to join the tea ceremony with a geisha. I will check with our team to see if we can book you the bullet train back on the final day. Unless requested otherwise, we will book the train for 2pm on the final day of the trip. The price for the bullet train is: $148.59 USD

Asked on August 28th, 2025Is there an age limit for this tour to Japan? I'm 22 and my sister is 14, turning 15 this November.
The Dragon TripOperator•Written August 2025The age range for this trip is 18-55, but we can sometimes be flexible. Your sister might not be allowed to stay in the hostels which means you might have to upgrade to a private room. She might also not be allowed to join all activities due to age restrictions.

Asked on August 27th, 2025Would there be any problems or requirements I need to bring for her? I'm 22 and my younger sister is 14.
The Dragon TripOperator•Written August 2025Our tours are designed for travelers aged 18 and above. However, we do welcome 16–17 year olds when they're traveling with an adult. Since your sister is 14, we'd just need to double-check internally whether we can make an exception in this case.

Asked on August 16th, 2025When I attempt a book state is only offered in Spanish. Do you have an English option?
The Dragon TripOperator•Written August 2025We only have availability for our Spanish tour to depart on the 16th October 2025. For the English tour, we have the following start dates for around the time you'd like to visit: 1-Sep-25, 8-Sep-25, 22-Sep-25, 6-Oct-25, 13-Oct-25, 20-Oct-25, 27-Oct-25, 17-Nov-25. Would any of these work for you?

Asked on August 12th, 2025Could you please confirm if this adventure can be operated in Spanish? Additionally, is there any price adjustment for a 13-year-old teenager?
The Dragon TripOperator•Written August 2025I'm afraid the age range for this trip is 18-55. We wouldn't be able to accommodate a 13 year old on this trip. An alternative option would be for them to join our 12-Day Japan Family Adventure through Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Beyond. This trip can accommodate guests aged 7-70. But this trip is only operated in English.

Asked on July 25th, 2025I am interested in the 13 day Japan trip. I will need to apply for a visa and therefore require proof of all accommodations. Please advise if this can be arranged up to 3 months in advance.
The Dragon TripOperator•Written July 2025We can provide proof of accommodation to support your visa application. Once you have paid the deposit and secured a spot on the tour, we can arrange this accordingly.

Asked on July 24th, 2025Is the tour with a coach and a guide. Luggage transfers to and from hotels
The Dragon TripOperator•Written July 2025The trip uses public transport to get to each activity, including a journey on the famed bullet train. There's an adventure leader with you to help you along the way and share their local knowledge with you. The standard accommodation is dorm shared rooms with the option to upgrade to a private room everywhere apart from for 1 night in Hakone where you will stay in gender separated rooms at a traditional Japanese Ryokan. On both trips you're expect to carry your own luggage which is why we suggest packing light.

Carl
Asked on July 19th, 20251 person can join?
The Dragon TripOperator•Written July 2025Yes, these are group tours, so anyone can join and travel with other solo travellers! It is a great way to see Japan and also make friends along the way.
