- JDJotinder· September 19th, 2024I had mixed views on this tour. The tour guide was very good, approachable and helped whereever possible but what was really disappointing for me was the bikes. They were sub standard. The gears slipped, the wheels werent balanced and the brakes were faulty. Even after they went for a service they still werent good enough. This spoilt the overall experience for me. Please invest in some good quality bikes for future.Show moreTrip date: September 2024

Asked on April 10th, 2025Is there still availability for 1 traveler for the departure on September 27th? Since the bike rental is excluded from the cost of this package, would it be possible to add this to my booking? Also, what would be the cost of the bike rental?
- Penguin TravelOperator•Written April 2025
We do have availability for the departure date Sat, Sep 27, 2025. Regarding the bike rental, it is possible and we do have few alternatives, as follow: Drag - Grand Canyon TE - 100 EUR, Cube - 140 EUR, E-bike - 190 EUR

Asked on July 15th, 2024What is the amount and level of cycling involved? All the reviews talk about walking. Is the cycling mostly flat or mountainous? Cost to rent a cycle? Cost to rent an ebike?
- Penguin TravelOperator•Written July 2024
Cycling Roads: we use mainly isolated village asphalt roads with little traffic, road conditions are relatively good with some exceptions (bumpy sections, potholes, rough asphalt), we do not go off-road. Cycling distances range from 42km to 77km per day with ascents between 430m to 970m. E-bike rent - 190 EUR per week. Mountain bike Cube - 140 EUR per week. Mountain bike Drag - 100 EUR per week.

Traveler•Written May 2024We would be interested in a cycling tour of Bulgaria on our own road bikes. Do you have a suggested itinerary and price for a tour in 2025 that also includes an opportunity to find out a bit more about the country?
- O
Olivia
Traveler•Written October 20241) Will you take a group of only 6 or 7 and will this change the price? We would only want a driver not a guide as well. All riders will want single accommodation. 2) Is this suitable for us to bring our own road bikes? Are the roads OK? 3) Can the itinerary be reduced to about 6 days of riding? 4) Are the dates of 2nd May to 9th May available?
- Penguin TravelOperator•Written October 2024
We can take max 8 clients in one minivan seating 8+1. Single accommodation is ok. The roads on this itinerary are OK for road bikes. 6 days biking is not a problem, it gives 7 overnights. The beginning of May is good. These dates are available.

Asked on February 16th, 2022We are friends between ages low 60's to upper 60's and would like to rent ebikes. I didn't see that on the website. How do we rent them. We probably will add time on either end of the bike tour. Also do you know of someone that could organize for us to see some of the UNESCO sites possible with this trip
- Penguin TravelOperator•Written February 2022
We have our own bike rental and 4 e-bikes are not problem at all. A weekly rental cost 140 EUR per bike. On this trip you can see the Byana church in Sofia, which is in the Unesco world heritage list. If you want to extend your stay in Buglaria you can easliy visit few more Unesco sites within 2-3 days roundtrip of Bulgaria, which we can organise for you.
