Itinerary
- Day 1
Mindo Cloud Forest
Start early and drive just over an hour from Quito to reach the Mindo cloud forest. Once you're there, a local guide takes you through the lush rainforest to see orchid collections and a jungle waterfall. You'll also stop at a butterfly farm where you can hold giant butterflies and feed them from your hand. If you want more action, there's whitewater tubing through rapids or canopy ziplining across 13 lines suspended above the forest. Another option is visiting a small chocolate factory where you can see how cacao transforms into chocolate. By evening, you'll head back to Quito with plenty of forest memories.
