Itinerary
- Day 1
Delhi to Amritsar
You'll head out early for a transfer to Delhi railway station where you board the Shatabdi Express headed to Amritsar. The train ride takes you north through the Punjab region. Once you arrive in Amritsar, a transfer will take you to your hotel. After you check in, the rest of your afternoon is free, so you can settle into your room, grab a bite, or just rest up before exploring the city.

- Day 2
Amritsar
This morning you'll take a sightseeing tour around historic Amritsar. The Golden Temple is your first stop, the most sacred site in Sikhism, and you'll see why it's so significant to millions of people. From there you'll visit Jallianwala Bagh, a somber memorial garden connected to a pivotal moment in India's independence movement. Your guide will explain the Sikh heritage and the cultural importance of both locations. Once the tour ends in early afternoon, you have the evening free to walk around the city on your own, check out local shops, or grab dinner wherever looks good to you.

Wagah
You'll have the morning completely open, so you can sleep in, have a leisurely breakfast, or explore another part of Amritsar if you'd like. In the afternoon around 2 or 3pm, you'll travel about 28km southeast to Wagah, where India and Pakistan share their only official border crossing. You'll watch the ceremonial Retreat ceremony at sunset, where soldiers from both countries perform an intense flag-lowering ritual with dramatic high kicks and aggressive posturing. It's quite a show and gets pretty animated. You'll head back to Amritsar after the ceremony concludes.

Landmarks Wagah Border - Day 4
Amritsar to Delhi
Your final day in Amritsar is completely unscheduled until evening. You can spend it however you want, visiting a market, trying local food, exploring neighborhoods you missed, or simply relaxing at your hotel. Later in the day around 6 or 7pm, you'll get picked up and transferred to Amritsar railway station. You'll board the evening train back to Delhi, and after the overnight journey, you'll pull into Delhi just before midnight. Someone will meet you at the station and take you either to your hotel or directly to the airport if you have an early morning flight.
