  This review will only be valid if you are Indian (or come from a developing country), hence mentioning amounts in INR. Pros: 1. Great group. The group size was not very large. It was 13 people, but we became really good friends by the end of the tour. 2. Having a guide who helped whenever required. My wife had a twisted ankle and our guide took us to the hospital. 3. Some places were really beautiful like Ha long bay, Hoi An, Da lat 4. Cruise stay was awesome. 5. No hassles, guide took care of most things Cons: 1. The return on investment is very low. I paid 88K INR for the tour, but got to stay in hostels that were at max 1.5K per day (except the cruise which was 8000 per day). If I calculate the cost of internal flight, buses, transport and stay, it comes to around

  The Ultimate Vietnam tour was intense and well organised. The trip combines many Vietnamese highlights and contains just enough downtime to make it through the day, but is packed enough to provide an intense and fulfilling experience. Our tour guide Lap was knowledgable and accommodating, always providing extra information and recommendations when asked without being in any way overbearing. Having a local guide also makes for some really interesting conversations about life in Vietnam, and you feel like even in an international group, you get some of the local experience. Something that also stood out to me was the well-balanced itinerary; just when you think you're ready to move on from one place, the tour takes you to the next, making it so there's no dull moments, no overstaying, and an always fresh and interesting way to experience Vietnam during the two weeks, with a perfect blend of big cities, smaller villages and beautiful nature. Would definitely recommend!

  Hi, I came back from Vietnam a few days ago. I would be happy to provide detailed feedback. We have also discussed the feedback extensively in the group and all share the same opinion. First of all I would like to say that I am very satisfied with you (TourRadar!). Your communication is punctual, clear and accurate. Thank you for this. You exude confidence and work professionally. On the other hand, everyone finds the communication with Ultimate/Discova substandard and absolutely unhelpful. They systematically wipe all responsibility from them and only answer after a week. Everyone has indicated in their reviews that we are not satisfied and would not recommend them. Even for their emergency contact number on Wats app, they were hardly responsive and never ever answered any queries I had, unless it was a week too late. Next, I would like to say that all travellers absolutely love Vietnam. It really is a super nice country to discover! The transport network in Vietnam is also very well organised, cheap and comfortable. Everyone really liked the cruise in Halong bay. Da lat and Hoi An were also very popular! Nevertheless, I have to inform you that a lot of things did not go well, so that the trip did not meet our expectations… Hopefully you can do something with this constructive information. First of all, not everyone was picked up at the airport despite having paid extra for that. Fortunately this did not apply to me but when I arrived, it took me 15-20 minutes to locate the driver who came to collect me. After a lot of stress and walking around, I noticed he was sitting down, not too close to the main arrivals section, holding a sign with my name. I also think that we have received very little information in advance. Nothing was known about the addresses of the whereabouts, changes or group members. This should really be better and is a very big working point for Ultimate and Discova! In addition to this, everyone expected to stay in a hotel several times and stay in rooms with 1 person of the same sex. In Hanoi, for example, we slept with 14 in 1 room. In terms of accommodation, there is really a lot of room for improvement. We experienced a constant alternation of very hard uncomfortable mattresses, poorly maintained properties, cold showers, broken shower doors, plugs that do not work, very small rooms. Apart from the cruise, we were always in a dorm and that had not been communicated clearly enough. Furthermore, there have been many changes or activities have not been carried out without replacement/compensation. This was never communicated in advance and therefore causes a great deal of discontent. This is really unacceptable and misleading in our view. This goes against consumer rights. The whole group is therefore of the opinion that in one way or another this should now be compensated in retrospect. I will list a few examples of this: Ninh Van Bay completely missing and no trekking, no boat ride in Hoi An, no sightseeing tour in Hoi An, questionable food tour in Hanoi, no private Island… Our guide told us that these activities and destinations haven't been used since Covid, but that the route on the websites has simply not yet been adjusted ... They never came up with solutions despite our complaints. That is why several group members rented scooters to visit the missing destinations independently, which at times created a divide between the group. We also noticed that the information on the different websites eg Oaktravel, backpackers, TourRadar and ultimate etc is not the same. This should also be aligned. Finally, as much as I appreciate the hard work and effort shown by our guide, I feel he could have been more responsive towards a travel concern of mine, which was along the lines of our safety when there were floods in Hoi An. I had sent him a message earlier in the day and I would have just been reassured had he responded back to it by saying something like he would look into it, but this was not the case. Despite all the work points, we really enjoyed this beautiful country that was very popular. I know this is a very long email, but I wrote it with good and constructive intentions. Thank you very much for your (TourRadar) good care. I have come home with fond memories and a heart full of joy, but I just get this feeling that I may need to be more careful when planning for my next trip. Thanks in advance. Kind regards, Japjit

  We loved this tour so much and loved our guide Lập. He was very attentive and knowledgeable and was always very patient with us. I feel like we all became lifelong friends. I will definitely recommend this tour to my friends, outstanding!

  Did the 14 day ultimate Vietnam tour with Laura as our tour guide and it was amazing! The tour itself was a great taster and insight of the country. You pack an awful lot in 14 days which is great which is ideal if you want to see a handful of places across the country in quite a short time! It was a good Variation between day activities and evening entertainment which was perfect. Also with a group up to 14 it still can be personal enough. Laura our tour guide was great! Very friendly and great comms right from the off, even before we had started and met. She knew her stuff and history about the country after being there for over 6 years. She knew a lot of people and is well liked by the locals which helps and says it all. Very personable and goes the extra mile to help you with information, onward travel, research etc etc. She is very relaxed and for the ‘free time’ or evenings she is open to suggestions if the group don’t want to do what’s planned. She also is happy if people want to do something different if they are set on doing something or seeing something specific outside of the tour. Would highly recommend, throughly enjoyed!

  Amazing tour! With Laura we were learning everything about Vietnam. She explain everything what you like to know and she is so helpful and friendly. Even in time of Corona she knows what to do and where we can go to eat or to see something. She give all information to us immediately. The group is number one for Laura and she is also loved by the Vietnamese people. She helps also if you like to have a romantic evening alone or some special places. We learned some Vietnamese words and phrases of her and how we have to act in Vietnam. Can not believe how much we learned about this country and the people because of Laura! Thank you so much!

  This tour is great packed full of activities and never a dull moment. Our tour guide was Laura and she was FAB. Do not judge this girl by her Liverpool accent she was honestly fantastic and had so much knowledge of each place we visited and fun stories to tell about the history and culture of the areas. She made everything really interesting and I couldn’t recommend her or this tour enough. (Also don’t forget to ask her about her claim to fame in Vietnam!)

  Ultimate Vietnam was a great experience, they have guides who know the local area for each stop. They can recommend what to do, what to eat, where to eat. The itinerary has a number of good stops throughout Vietnam, including Hanoi, ha long bay, Ho Chi Minh city, and many more. This tour is a really good way to get a taste of Vietnamese culture in a short timeframe.

  This tour was such a great experience. The itinerary is very good, but what really made the trip for me was the tour guide, Laura. She is clearly very passionate about Vietnam and that energy really rubs off on you. She knows so much about the country and culture and I really felt like I got a better understanding of Vietnam because of it. Thank you so much!
