One issue was that we two were the only English speakers on board. No problems with the crew and we met up with a couple from Sweden who preferred English. A second issue was getting to Tulcea. The (mainly military) airport at Constanta was the smallest and most basic I have ever seen. Because we were not part of a group there was no means of getting to Constanta, so we commandeered the only taxi in sight. It was impossible to pre-book transport to Tulcea, so we took a chance with a bus - no English, no destination but we accidentally ended up where we wanted to be - a great adventure and a lot of fun.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. McRae, We are glad that despite the fact that you were the only two English speaking people, you were still able to enjoy your experience on board. We hope we'll have the pleasure to welcome you again on board one of our ships. Best... Show more

Some problems regarding lack of info provided; we didn't book the excursions BUT the boat moved on while passengers are on the excursions so you can't go off the boat and do your own thing. Therefore you have to pay for the excursion or stay onboard and do nothing and see nothing. Quite a revelation !!

Dear Mr. Hodgson, That situation can happen on some cruise indeed. The ship take advantage of that time to move forward with the navigation. We are sorry if that was an inconvenience for you. Best regards, Croisieurope Customer Care Department

It was a wonderful trip with plenty of opportunities to participate in optional tours as well as free time where possible. The accommodation was great and there was plenty of food to suit everyone. Staff were friendly and helpful which was great particularly when my husband was medically evacuated off the ship 1 day before the end of our cruise.

The food was great. There were only 8 English speaking people on the cruise everyone else spoke French but the crew were really understanding. The rooms a very small, don't expect luxury but value for money counts as you only pay for what tours you want to go on. Overall I must say helpful crew and tried to make us all feel welcome but the accommodation let it down.

My husband and I did the Berlin Croisi River trip. It was fabulous. The tours were outstanding and the tour guy we had every day was so informative and helpful. The crew was great and we were the only English speakers on board so they made sure we had everything in English and sat us with a woman who spoke English. The others at our table were French and didn't speak very much English. The food was five star and at the end of the trip we got to go back in the kitchen and talk to the chef. The wine and drinks were included throughout the trip. When we would come back from our tour, the crew was waiting for us with the drink of the day. Our room was small but comfortable and nicely decorated. Because we were the only English speakers we always sat in the same seat every day on the bus next to the tour guy who spoke to us in English after speaking to the French. We had a great time and saw everything we wanted to see in Potsdam and Berlin. We would definitely go again and plan on the Berlin to Amsterdam trip for our next Crosi cruise.

    Are meals served onboard?

    Meals
    • CroisiEurope River CruisesOperatorWritten September 2018

Once you are onboard the cruise, all of your meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided for the whole duration of your cruise. CroisiEurope is very proud of the meals they serve to passengers and you will probably experience some of the best French and European cuisine at their tables. Depending on the excursions planned, some meals may not be provided on board however if this is the case, it will be clearly stated in the cruise programme.

Breakfast is usually a self-serve buffet in the onboard restaurant, which may include pastries, coffee, tea, juice, breads, jams, a variety of sausages and cold cut meats, eggs, fresh fruit, and yoghurt.

Lunch and dinner will be a 3-course sit-down meal and is served at set times and in single seating for all passengers. Both lunch and dinner meals are paired with excellent complimentary wines for you to enjoy.

What dress code is expected onboard?

    Other
    • CroisiEurope River CruisesOperatorWritten September 2018

CroisiEurope has more of a relaxed dress code onboard compared to other cruise lines and it is recommended that you will be most comfortable during the day in smart casual clothing and casual dressy in the evening. You may wish to bring items that do not wrinkle easily, or that transport well after being ironed at home, as there are no irons provided onboard. Croisi recommends bringing a variety of clothing for the environments expected during your cruise, including light clothing and bathing suits for hot weather, a sweater or jacket for cooler weather, and of course a raincoat and/or small umbrella. For sightseeing excursions, we recommend bringing comfortable and sturdy walking shoes.
