The trip combined seeing the popular sights with more niche activities including fire ceremonies at the temple and samurai experiences. For the tour I was given Caro as my local tour guide leader and she was fantastic. As someone with food allergies she took the time to help me at every restaurant with conversing to the staff in ensuring my food was safe, in which it was throughout. Caro was extremely knowledgeable of Japan and shared this throughout my stay, which enriched the tour further, and made it very engaging. As a leader she is a very calming person to be around and makes you feel comfortable at every opportunity, whilst also ensuring that you are pushed out of your comfort zone so you have fun!!! She had such a positive energy all the time, it set the tone for the whole group. I’d pick my next tour based off where she was guiding! The accommodation was basic but fine, as expected. Loved the amount of included activities! I’ve done tours where they immediately sell you $300 of activities, but this tour included everything you needed for a busy day. Trip date: October 2024 - Nick· November 1st, 2024This was my first ever solo and group tour trip so I was a little nervous about it but it turned out to be the best trip that I've ever been on! We had an amazing group of people from all over the world and a variety of ages. I was amazed at how quickly it felt like i had been friends with everyone in the group for a very long time and I will definitely see some of them again! Bali is an amazing place and just has so much to offer. The beaches and ocean are great, really nice pools everywhere and no end to cool little shops and exciting bars. All of the activities offered were so great and a lot of fun. Traffic is a little crazy in Bali though so be prepared to spend a bit of time getting around but all that time just gives you more time to get to know your new friends. The surfing was one of my favorite activities and they are so good at helping everyone out and making sure everyone has a fun time. We got to see a lot of dolphins! I went diving for my first time on Gili T and it was the most amazing experience. The night life is great everywhere and we had a few great nights out together. The Villa that you stay at in Lovina was so amazing and I wish we had more time there. Our group leader was Caro West and I couldn't say enough good about how great she was, if there is anything that you ever need she will be right there to help! She did everything to make sure we were all having a great time and reality made the trip even better. I had a birthday on the trip and Caro helped make it my best birthday yet!! The days are packed with fun activities, but you also get some well deserved alone time to explore. I think we got really lucky with our leader Hendri! When I went surfing before the trip, loads of the staff told met that Hendri is the best and that was true. The man might sleep few hours, but he’s always happy and ready to help you out. Even after my trip he helped me with ferries and other Intro trips. The nights with him and the group are unforgettable and the laughs were unparalleled. Planning to do the Australia trip soon, but I wish that Hendri would come on that trip too. Asked on February 9th, 2025I have a question about the 'Bali intro 9 days' trip. It includes dolphin spotting. I have read many of these tours are not sustainable, as they are chasing the dolphins with many boats at a time. However, there is a sustainable tour at 'Lovina Dolphin tour'. Which type of tour is included in this trip? the sustainable one, or the one with many boats chasing the dolphins?

The animals safety is our priority and we definitely do not chase the dolphins, I have personally done this tour and the guides were very respectful to the dolphins in their natural habitat :)

For our Bali Intro tour departing on the 26th April, we currently have 15 bookings - 11F & 4M and the ages range from 19-35. Half of the group are age 18-22, so I think you would fit in perfectly with this group!

Asked on September 17th, 2024Is it okay to bring a suitcase around 25 kg on the tour? Will it be a problem if it's more than the recommended 20 kg?

This shouldn't be too much of an issue, as you are never having to carry your suitcase for long periods. The only time that it may be a bit tricky is when you are getting on/off the boat to and from Gili Trawangan as it can get a little bit crowded around the pier. However, the boat staff are very helpful and will help with getting your suitcase on and off the boat.

Unfortunately the majority of our group members are their 20s and 30s so our Bali Intro tour wouldn't be suitable for you, but we could certainly look into getting all 3 of you booked onto our Bali Experience trip which is mainly for people aged 18-45 with travellers in their 50's and 60's who join us. As long as you're aware that the trips do have a physical element and there are some planned nights out, but these nights out are voluntary.

We always recommend travelling light with a backpack and packing light! 10-20kgs of stuff should be plenty. It's generally quite hot in Bali so dragging a huge suitcase is not fun. You'll also want to bring a daypack to take everyday essentials with you.
