Itinerary
- Day 1
Cape Town
After the tour briefing, you'll head out from Cape Town at 08:00am toward Hout Bay harbour. From there, it's on to Cape Point Nature Reserve where you can take in the dramatic coastline. Stop by Boulders Beach to see the African Penguin colony up close, then finish the day with dinner at a local restaurant in the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. You'll get a real taste of Cape Town's food scene here.

Cederberg
This day focuses on the Cederberg, a massive rocky wilderness with giant sandstone boulders that wind and rain have carved into all sorts of bizarre shapes. In the morning, you'll check out this dramatic landscape. By afternoon, you'll get out on foot to explore the rugged terrain yourself and really get a feel for the area.

Cederberg to Gariep River
You're traveling into more arid regions today and crossing into Namibia. The camp is set up at the Gariep River where you'll have free time to swim or relax. If you want something more active, there's the option to take canoes down the river for an extra fee.

Fish River Canyon
Travel takes you to Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world. The landscape here is pretty dramatic and the scale is hard to grasp until you're actually standing there. In the afternoon, you'll watch the sunset slip over the canyon's rim, which really showcases the colors and depth of the place.

Fish River Canyon to Sossusvlei
Today you're heading to Sossusvlei where towering red sand dunes form the gateway into the Namib Desert. You'll walk into Sossusvlei and explore Sesriem Canyon. Later, watch dramatic sunsets over the world's highest sand dunes. The colors here change throughout the day, so the views shift quite a bit from morning to evening.

Sossusvlei to Swakopmund
You'll travel to the coastal town of Swakopmund, and as you approach the coast, the landscape becomes more lunar-like. This day is mostly free time so you can wander around town at your own pace. If you're interested, there's dune boarding or sea kayaking available for an extra cost. Dinner and restaurant choices are up to you and at your own expense.

Swakopmund to Spitzkoppe
Travel north along the arid coast to the Cape Cross seal colony, which is worth seeing if you've never experienced something like it. From there, head inland and set up camp under Spitzkoppe, huge granite domes that rise out of the desert. You'll catch a magnificent sunset and have time for a short walk to explore the surrounding area.

Brandberg
Today you're traveling to Brandberg where camp is next to the dry Ugab River. This area is home to rare desert elephants, so keep your eyes open. Local guides will lead you through the mountains on foot to explore the landscape and see rock art that marks the region.

Brandberg to Etosha National Park
You're entering Etosha National Park, known as 'the great white place of dry water', in the game-rich northwest corner of Namibia. Game drives take you around the huge dry pan where you'll look for elephants, herds of antelope, and lions gathered around waterholes. Camp at Okaukuejo where there's a flood-lit waterhole so you can watch wildlife even after dark.

Etosha to Windhoek
Travel to Windhoek, a city where African and European cultures blend together in interesting ways. You'll arrive late in the day, so dinner and restaurant choices are at your own expense. It's a good chance to wind down and reflect on the trip so far.

The tour ends at 08:00am at the guesthouse. If you need to get to the airport, transfers are available but you'll need to request them.
