  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu

    You'll arrive at Kathmandu airport and head to your hotel for some rest after the long flight. Stop by the tour office if you want to get oriented, then in the evening grab dinner at a traditional Nepalese restaurant with your group.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu

    This morning you'll take a guided tour through Kathmandu's key spiritual sites. You'll walk through Durbar Square, visit Swayambhunath Monkey Temple where you can see across the valley, stop at Pashupati Nath temple, and check out Bouddhanath Stupa. Head back to the hotel by afternoon to pack for your flight to Bhutan tomorrow.

  3. Day 3

    Kathmandu to Paro

    Your flight to Paro offers great views of the Himalayas and Mount Everest if weather cooperates. After you land and settle into your hotel, have lunch, then spend the afternoon exploring Paro valley. You'll see the ruins of Drugyul Dzong fortress and visit Ta-Dzong National Museum. On clear days Mount Jumolhari is visible from the fortress.

  4. Day 4

    Paro to Thimphu

    Start early for the hike up to Taktsang Monastery, which sits on a cliff 900 meters above the valley. The climb takes a few hours with a lunch break halfway at Cafeteria Restaurant. After exploring the monastery, you'll hike back down then drive to Thimphu for the night.

  5. Day 5

    Thimphu to Wangduephodrang

    Spend your day in Thimphu seeing the memorial Chorten, Changangkha Temple from the 15th century, a traditional indigenous hospital, the National Library, and a painting school. Later you'll drive across Dochula Pass, which has views of the Himalayas on clear days. From there head through rhododendron forests toward Wangduephodrang.

    Wangduephodrang to Paro

    Visit Punakha Dzong nestled between two rivers, then stop at Chimi Lhakhang fertility temple if you want to receive a blessing. Drive back toward Paro through Dochula Pass and see the new Druk Wangyal Monastery with its paintings about the monarchy. Stop in Thimphu for lunch before driving on to Paro.

    Paro to Kathmandu

    Your flight back to Kathmandu provides scenic views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Chomolhari, Tsrim Gang, and Jichu Drake. Once you arrive and get transferred to your hotel, spend the rest of the day resting or exploring areas around Kathmandu if you're not too tired.

  8. Day 8

    Kathmandu

    Head out to two UNESCO World Heritage sites near Kathmandu. First you'll explore Patan, known for its fine arts and medieval Durbar Square with beautiful Hindu and Buddhist monuments. Then move to Bhaktapur to walk through its medieval architecture and streets. In the afternoon you'll have time to pick up any souvenirs before heading back.

    I had an amazing time with my guide Kapil and my porter. They were overly caring for my well-being and the experience was other worldly. However I’d definitely recommend trekkers to book with a group instead of just them and a tour guide.

    From the moment I booked this trip I was impressed. The Himalayan Glacier Trekking company were i constant contact with me and if I send an email they responded to me almost immediately. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I was picked up and greeted by a friendly team member and personally greeted and farewelled by senior members of the company. My tour guide was amazing and even though I was the only person on my tour nothing was rushed and all my questions were answered. I would definitely use these guys again.

    • Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before February 4th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 4th, 2026, a minimum payment of 10% is required to confirm your booking with Himalayan Glacier Adventure and Travel Company. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Himalayan Glacier Adventure and Travel Company will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
