- AMAdrian Saman· November 18th, 2023Although I had a great time, I cannot really recommend this trip. Rather book a tour using trains between Cairo and Aswan, as the bus rides take too much time and are extremely uncomfortable. As a comparison: The leg room in the bus is smaller than in a plane for a short-haul flight. The itinerary give a wrong impression of the trip and even includes wrong information. For example: 1. It's mentioned, that there's an overnight coach for the way to Aswan. But in reality it is a usual coach, like any other on the trip. 2. It's mentioned we travel with the felucca, including toilet and shower on board, from Aswan to Luxor including swim stops and pit stop at Kom Ombo. Though, our guide explained us, that topdeck doesn't allow travelers swimming in the Nile. People swimming in the Nile are not allowed to continue the trip! Further there's no pit stop in Kom Ombo. There is no shower on the felucca. And the best: We just travelled about 15 km on the felluca, before it docked for the night. Early morning, we've then entered the coach for a 5 hours drive to Luxor! 3. In the itinerary it's mentioned, that we spend the afternoon of day 7 in Hurghada. In reality, we've spent the whole afternoon on the coach and just arrived late evening for dinner. Early next morning, there was the optional snorkeling activity (which I can totally recommend) and 30 minutes after returning from the snorkeling, we already had to jump on the coach to head towards Cairo. So, there's no chance to see anything of Hurghada unless you don't do the snorkeling! 4. In general, the itinerary doesn't mentioned with one word, that you spend a lot of the your time on a coach: 14 hours from Cairo to Aswan, 5 hours from Aswan (resp. the felucca) to Luxor, 7 hours from Luxor to Hurghada and 7 hours from Hurghada to Cairo. ... But having been on this tour twice, I would definitely recommend it for someone who would like to learn a bit about Egypt and see all the places you always catch a glimpse of on tv or social media. Mina was a fantastic tour leader, and he always was doing whatever he could to make sure we were happy with the experience. I went on the Beaches and Pyramids tour, which was this tour + a week in the Sinai Peninsula, and it was all amazing. It is a lot of driving so be ready for that when traveling to destinations but I had a great group so it didn't really bother me. All of the optional activities are worth it!! There is so much to see and do. This was my first time doing a group tour and i was super nervous about it. It ended up being one of the best decisions I ever made.
