Itinerary
- Day 1KathmanduYou'll land in Kathmandu and get a complimentary transfer to your hotel. At 6 pm, you'll meet your trip leader and other travelers. The rest of the evening is yours to wander through the city's ancient architecture, markets, and bazaars on your own. If you're interested, there's an optional group dinner at a Nepali restaurant. - Day 2KathmanduAfter breakfast, you'll start at Pashupatinath Temple on the holy Bagmati River where you can see sadhus, pilgrims, and funeral ceremonies. Then it's on to Bodhnath Stupa, one of Buddhism's most significant shrines, where monks are often in prayer. Following lunch, you'll climb to Swayambhunath Temple (the Monkey Temple), a UNESCO site with both Buddhist and Hindu elements. The day wraps up at Durbar Square with its old royal palace temples and merchant stalls. Your evening is free. - Meals

- Day 3Kathmandu to PokharaYou'll fly to Pokhara, and on clear days you might catch views of the Himalayan peaks. Once there, take a scenic boat ride across Phewa Tal, Nepal's second largest lake. You have the option to visit Taal Barahi temple in the middle of the lake or just relax on the water. The evening is yours to unwind, and your leader can point you toward good lakeside restaurants for dinner. - Meals

- Day 4PokharaEarly risers can head up Sarangkot Hill to catch the sunrise. After breakfast, the Peace Pagoda offers spectacular mountain views of the Annapurnas, Machhapuchhare (the fishtail peak), and Pokhara below. You'll also visit the International Mountain Museum to learn about climbing history. Later, you'll head to a local Tibetan Refugee Camp for lunch, hear their stories from Tibet, learn about their life, and join a traditional momo cooking demonstration before eating together. - Meals

- Day 5Pokhara to BandipurYour private vehicle takes you to Bandipur, a traditional Nepalese town perched on a high ridge with exceptional Himalayan views. Once an important trading post to Tibet, its main street still shows off historic merchant buildings with original architecture. You'll settle into this charming, rural location above Dumre. - Meals

- Day 6BandipurYou have the day to yourself in Bandipur. The surrounding hills have excellent hiking trails that wind through tribal villages and hilltop shrines that once served as fortresses. Take in the Himalayan views from the ridge, visit local temples, grab coffee with a view, or just wander around and get to know the town. - Meals

- Day 7Bandipur to Chitwan National ParkAfter breakfast, you'll drive to Chitwan National Park. Once you've settled in, you'll meet the camp staff and naturalists who'll tell you about upcoming activities. In the early evening, the local Tharu dance troupe may perform for the group. Dinner is together, and afterward you can relax in the bar, swap wildlife stories, or listen to the jungle sounds. - Meals

- Day 8Chitwan National ParkAn early-morning jeep safari takes you out looking for the great Indian rhino, deer, and birds (timing depends on hotel staff, so this might have happened on day 7). After breakfast comes a dugout canoe adventure down the Rapti River where you'll look for marsh mugger crocodiles and riverbank birds. The rest of your day includes other organized activities, possibly more jeep excursions or visits to nearby villages. - Meals

- Day 9Chitwan National Park to BhaktapurAn optional early-morning birdwatching safari is available if you're into wildlife. After breakfast, you'll drive along the scenic Trisuli River to Bhaktapur with a lunch stop along the way. Bhaktapur, once Nepal's capital and heart of the Great Malla Kingdom in the 1400s, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its temples and artisanal traditions. Your evening is free to explore cafes, walk around, or rest at your hotel. - Meals

- Day 10Bhaktapur to KathmanduSpend your morning in Bhaktapur's temples, starting at Durbar Square, which many call Nepal's most beautiful spot. You'll see the Lion Gate and Golden Gate, then head to Yakcheswor Mahadev Temple, which mirrors Pashupatinath Temple. In the afternoon, drive back to Kathmandu. Your evening is free, and there's an optional final group dinner as your trip winds down. - Meals
