- JULIANA· March 22nd, 2025I have had one past trip with Intrepid Travels. I enjoy their itineraries (minus mandatory trips to tourist traps lol) and transportation; however their hotel accommodations are hit and miss. We had a guide for one part of a trip and then it changed to another guide. I would say in general, it was a good trip if you are looking cultural immersed trip; do not have high expectations and are not high maintenance. The only reason I chose Intrepid because I knew what to expect. Some tour companies fill up the bus with 50 ppl- that is not my thing. Intrepid has small group that you end up making friends for life with some of them.Show more

This tour isn't a typical group tour it will have a local guide as Intrepid Short Break Adventures are not accompanied by an Intrepid group leader.
Here is a description of a 'Short Break Adventure Tour' from Intrepid:
Short Breaks are the ideal add-on to a longer holiday – or a mini adventure of their own. With a duration of 2-8 days, they range from beach breaks to guided excursions, or are centred around an experience like hiking or cooking. Departures are frequent and usually guaranteed. Short Breaks are slightly different to our group tours, with the idea being that you maintain a level of independence during down time e.g. at night. You'll most likely travel on a join-in basis, which means you may or may not be joined by others for activities and transportation, depending on demand.
