- Sherry· February 11th, 2013We had the best guides ever on our trek up Mt. Kilimanjaro. Evance, Florence, Joseph and Daniel were kind, encouraging, knowledgeable about the trail, always smiling and positive, and I don't think we would have all made it to the summit without their help. It was the hardest thing I have ever done but with the help of the guides I can say I accomplished my goal.Show moreTrip date: January 2013

What our customers ask about this tour
The content in our FAQ section is subject to change.- L
Leah
Asked on January 25th, 2015I have never done climbing. So is this tour for inexperienced beginners?
- Sed Adventures Tours and SafarisOperator•Written January 2015
This route easier than the Machame Route, and the success rate on the Rongai is very high, so normal fitness is required.
- L
Leah
Asked on January 25th, 2015The accommodation for the night before and after the tour is exclusive, right?
- Sed Adventures Tours and SafarisOperator•Written January 2015
You are definitely correct. The accommodation on arrival and last night after climb is not included, but we can arrange on request.
- L
Leah
Asked on January 25th, 2015Do the tours start at any day or are there set dates?
- Sed Adventures Tours and SafarisOperator•Written January 2015
Absolutely Yes!! We can offer this tour starting whenever, since our our tours are tailor made, then you can start whenever you are ready

Leah
Asked on January 25th, 2015What kind of equipment and clothes do I need? Can I hire things as well? What are the costs?
- Sed Adventures Tours and SafarisOperator•Written January 2015
Anorak, fleece, pants, short and long sleeves t-shirt, gloves, thermal underwear, hat, balaclava/woollen hat, walking boots, woollen socks, gaiters, crampons, sun glasses / snow goggles, thermal water bottle, head lamp, walking pole, toiletries, chronographic wrist watch, sunscreen lotion, lip salve, Swiss army knife, hand towel, four- season sleeping bag, day pack, first aid kit and back pack cover *.
Luggage allowance: We recommend a soft bag weighing maximum of 10 to 15 kgs per person. A reasonable amount of photographic equipment is allowed.
The most common mistake that climbers make is that they over pack and bring way too much gear.
- L
Leah
Asked on January 25th, 2015What temperatures do I have to expect in March?
- Sed Adventures Tours and SafarisOperator•Written January 2015
Instead, the temperatures on Mount Kilimanjaro are determined more so by the altitude and time of day. At the beginning of the climb, at the base of the mountain, the average temperature is around 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit (21 to 27 degrees Celsius). From there, the temperatures will decrease as you move through Mount Kilimanjaro's ecological zones.
At the summit, Uhuru Point, the night time temperatures can range between 20 and -20 degrees Fahrenheit (-7 to -29 degrees Celsius). Due to Mount Kilimanjaro's great height, the mountain creates its own weather. It is extremely variable and impossible to predict. Therefore, regardless of when you climb, you should always be prepared for wet days and cold nights.
- L
Leah
Asked on January 25th, 2015What kind of accomodation is it?
- Sed Adventures Tours and SafarisOperator•Written January 2015
For Rongai you sleep in tents (tents are included), and the porter pitch your tent for you. Meals are served in a dinner tent or on a blanket outside.
- L
Leah
Asked on January 25th, 2015Will there be electricity during the tour to charge batteries for camera etc?
- Sed Adventures Tours and SafarisOperator•Written January 2015
No.. You will have to carry extras batteries.
