Overal a great experience, the guides ensure you have an authentic experience and take care of the difficult parts of traveling. It's a long trip and designed for those wanting to see much of central Europe in a short amount of time. I have taken away many good memories with the people I travelled with, and have formed a deeper understanding of western art, history and culture. Highly recommend.

Is it possible to upgrade the accommodation?

    Accommodation
    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten December 2023

The style of accommodation indicated in the day-to-day itinerary is a guideline. On rare occasions, alternative arrangements may need to be made due to the lack of availability of rooms in our usual accommodation. A similar standard of accommodation will be used in these instances. We might not be able to go for a room upgrade. Your accommodation may not always have private en suite facilities or air-conditioning. European hotels generally don't provide kettles or fridges. Accommodation on this trip is basic. Hotels in Europe often don't have double beds, but rather two single beds that can be pushed together/apart. Rooms can be small, especially compared to American or Australian standards, and in some cases bathroom facilities will be shared rather than ensuite. A single supplement is not available on this trip.

      TravelerWritten December 2023

I like this route from "Berlin to Rome" as it includes Salzburg which no other tours has it. But from some of the comments the accommodation of this tour is not that good. For me I would like to have at least ensuite in the room whatever size of the room it is. I don't care about a double bed or two single beds. Our budget is about 6000~7000 AUD per person. I found another route "Highlights of East Europe" recently which has 5 star accommodation rates and thinking about maybe we can choose this one. What is your opinion?

If they can guarantee there would be 3 private rooms with our own bathrooms we would continue to look at this holiday. If they can't accommodate changing the nights at a hostel we will not look at this holiday any further.

It is unfortunate and surprised that they would use hostels & advertise for people up to 99 years old. We are in our late 60's & early 70's & can say it is not appealing to have to share accommodations at this stage in our lives.
