Landmarks Abel Tasman National Park - Days 11 - 13
Mokihinui
You'll relax at Gentle Annie's campsite nestled among Nikau-fringed native bush at the mouth of Mokihinui River. Or join an optional day trip north into Kahurangi National Park to explore the remarkable Oparara Basin. This area features ancient limestone caves, arches, and formations carved over a million years by the Oparara River. Walk through rainforest and see Oparara Arch, the largest natural limestone arch in the Southern Hemisphere at 43 metres high and 79 metres wide. Also explore the photogenic Moria Gate Arch through a unique forest floor entrance and walk a loop track past Mirror Lake back to the car park.

You'll journey down the rugged coastline south of Punakaiki to the Grey River, then follow an inland route through Brunner for a peaceful contrast to wild West Coast beaches. You'll wind through lush rainforest and rolling farmland as you head toward Moana. Later you'll arrive at this quiet lakeside village nestled on pristine Lake Brunner shores, where stunning alpine reflections and calm waters welcome you. Moana is your peaceful base for the night.

Mount Cook
