Helsinki
Touch down in Helsinki and check into the Home Hotel Jugend, an Art Nouveau four-star property with real character. You'll meet your Travel Director and the group for a welcome drink, so you can start getting to know everyone before the Scandinavian portion of your trip kicks into gear.

- Day 2
Helsinki to Ivalo
Fly north to Ivalo in Finnish Lapland, sitting 250km above the Arctic Circle on the Ivalo River. The area has historical ties to the 19th century goldrush, and you'll stay at Aurora Village with glass-roof cabins designed for stargazing. Settle in with dinner at the hotel while you keep watch for northern lights activity from your room.

- Day 3
Ivalo to Honningsvåg
Drive further north through winter landscapes, crossing into Norway on your way to Honningsv\u00e5g, the country's northernmost city. The route takes you along the Porsangerfjord (Norway's fourth largest) before heading through the subsea Nordkapp Tunnel to Mager\u00f8ya island. After arriving, take a walk through this small fishing community along the waterfront and have dinner at your hotel.

Honningsvåg
Spend the day exploring Honningsv\u00e5g at a relaxed pace. Walk to the 19th century church, one of the few structures to survive WWII destruction in Northern Norway. If you're interested, join an optional lunch featuring fresh king crabs and learn about the local fishing industry. Later, head to North Cape (Europe's northernmost point) where you'll raise a glass with bubbles and caviar, assuming weather cooperates.

Honningsvåg to Alta
Travel across changing terrain from barren lands through highlands to the Altafjord shoreline. Alta's where the world's first northern lights observatory was built back in the 1800s, and the city keeps developing rapidly. Check out one of the world's first ice hotels and have a chilled drink with fellow travelers, then settle at your comfortable hotel next to the modern Northern Lights Cathedral downtown.

Alta
Take things slow in Alta with optional activities to choose from. The Alta Museum features UNESCO World Heritage rock carvings from prehistoric times, so that's worth your time. Later, head to a working husky farm run by the Lyrek family to meet champion sled dogs and learn about Alaskan huskies competing in Arctic races. Grab an oven-baked lunch before spending time with the dogs.

Tromsø
Join a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER Experience where you'll spend time with members of the Indigenous S\u00e1mi community. A S\u00e1mi guide walks you through their camp and shares Arctic Norway history. You'll help feed the reindeer herd, then gather in a lavuu (traditional S\u00e1mi tent) for stories about S\u00e1mi life, folk songs by the fire, and traditional food and hot drinks.

During your orientation, you'll see the Oslo Opera House and the new Deichman Library in the contemporary Bj\u00f8rvika district. That evening, join the group at a local restaurant for a Celebration Dinner with wine where you can toast your new friends and reflect on the journey.
