Itinerary
- Day 1
Tokyo to Kamakura - Enoshima - Odawara
You'll leave Tokyo behind and head to Kamakura to spend the day exploring temples and gardens throughout the area. From there, stop by Sugimoto-dera temple before heading to see the Great Buddha, which sits as one of the main draws in the city. After some free time to wander around the city center, you'll travel along the coastal road to Enoshima for lunch and a walk across the island. Odawara - Mount Fuji - Kawaguchiko - Tokyo
This day takes you toward Hakone with views of Mount Fuji throughout. You'll head to Owakudani volcanic crater to see steam vents and the bubbling mud (though access can close due to volcanic activity, so Arakurayama Sengen Park works as a backup option). Next you'll check out Oshino Hakkai village with its eight ponds, then drive to Kawaguchiko town for a scenic boat ride on the lake. After that, you'll ascend toward Mount Fuji's Fifth Station at 2,305 meters, taking in forest and mountain scenery along the way (note that this area can close during winter months). The drive back to Tokyo happens by end of day.
