Quito
Start with a private guide through Quito's historic UNESCO center, taking in La Compañía church with its gold interior and wandering La Ronda street. Later you'll join a cooking class to prepare and eat local dishes for lunch. In the afternoon, head to the Inti Ñan Museum at the Middle of the World where interactive exhibits walk you through Ecuadorian culture and history.

Quito to Amazon (Coca)
Fly from Quito to Coca, then drive to a private dock to board a covered boat for two hours on the Napo River heading to the lodge. The Kichwa Añangu Community greets you with a traditional drink. After checking into your jungle-view room and getting briefed, choose between hiking to a 40-meter observation tower for wildlife spotting and the sunset, or taking a kayak ride on the river. Dinner happens back at the lodge.

Amazon - Napo River
Breakfast comes early before heading out by motorized canoe to the Parrot Clay Lick on the Napo River in Yasuní Biosphere Reserve. A 30-minute forest walk brings you to a viewpoint where you might see five parrot species along with howler monkeys and tapirs. Stop at the Kury Muyu center to learn about Kichwa culture, music, and crafts directly from community women. After lunch and rest, boat through Añangu Creek looking for monkeys, caimans, and giant otters. By evening, an ancestral catamaran trip on the Napo features Kichwa legends and traditional songs with roasted snacks.

Amazon - Napo River
Watch the sunrise with breakfast while learning about Kichwa worldview through community projects. Walk terra firme forest trails to spot wildlife and trees like ceiba and strangler figs. Back at the lodge for lunch and rest, then hike a 36-meter observation tower for birds, howler monkeys, and squirrel monkeys. Relax before a traditional Amazonian dinner featuring maito (grilled fish wrapped in bijao leaf) and optional chontakuru. After eating, take a night walk with a flashlight to see insects, reptiles, and nocturnal mammals.

Amazon (Coca) to Quito
For those interested, join the guayusada ritual at 4:30 AM, an ancient Kichwa ceremony sharing the sacred guayusa drink and learning through traditional songs with optional dream interpretation. After breakfast, travel back by motor canoe on the Napo River with final jungle views. Get transferred from Coca airport to catch your flight back to Quito for your connection home or next destination.
