Medan
You'll arrive in Medan and your guide will pick you up for the drive to your hotel. After your flight, the rest of the day is yours to rest and get settled. Dinner is on your own, so you can grab something nearby or relax at the hotel.

Medan to Bukit Lawang
Following breakfast, you'll drive through rubber and palm oil plantations heading to Bukit Lawang, about 85 km away on bumpy roads that take roughly 3 hours. After checking in and having lunch, you'll head out on an afternoon jungle trek looking for orangutans, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, and Siamang Gibbons. You return to the lodge for the night.

Jungle Trek - Day 1
An early start takes you into Gunung Leuser National Park, passing the old orangutan feeding area. Your guide points out wildlife and plants as you trek deeper into the rainforest and hike through hills to reach Jambur Batu River and its waterfall. You'll set up camp here, swim if you'd like, have refreshments, and enjoy dinner by a campfire under the stars.

Jungle Trek - Day 2
After breakfast, you'll trek about 6 hours deeper into the jungle toward Landak River through steep terrain with good views. The terrain gets harder but your chances of seeing wildlife increase. Your guides prepare a simple lunch on a hilltop partway through. By late afternoon you'll reach the Landak River campsite where you'll spend the night, with opportunities to see wild orangutans and black gibbons.

Jungle Trek - Day 3
Starting after breakfast, you hike upstream along Landak River to Uning, a small natural pond. Throughout the hike you might spot Sumatran tigers, deer, and wild boar. You'll build camp skills with your team and prepare jungle dinner, staying at the Landak River campsite. This location is ideal for wildlife because animals come here to get mineral nutrients from the mineral lick.

Jungle Trek - Day 4
You'll trek through the jungle for about 5 hours toward Bohorok River. Once you arrive at the campsite in the afternoon, there's time to relax and swim. Keep watch for Sumatran monitor lizards, tortoises, and colorful river butterflies. When night falls, you'll experience the jungle's unique nighttime sounds with a sky full of stars.

Bukit Lawang
This is a relaxed day at camp, so you can sleep in, have breakfast, swim, or just rest. Then comes the fun part, a 2.5-hour tube-raft down Bohorok River back to Bukit Lawang, which is a great way to finish your trekking. After collecting your items left at the lodge, you have free time to relax.

Bukit Lawang to Berastagi
You'll drive to Berastagi and stop at the local market where locals sell fruits, flowers, and vegetables. From Gundaling Hill you can see Mount Sinabung and Sibayak volcanoes. Later, you'll tour Lumbini Natural Park, a Buddhist temple with a replica of Shwedagon Pagoda that features Thai architecture covered in gold.

Berastagi to Samosir
Transport takes you to the trailhead near Semangat Gunung village, about 15 km from Berastagi. The hike to the summit takes 2 to 3 hours, then you descend via a different jungle trail that ends at hot springs. You'll rest at the hot springs around midday, then drive to Parapat. From there, a public ferry takes you to Samosir Island where you'll spend the night.

Landmarks/POIs Lake Toba Samosir Island - Day 10
Samosir Island
By car you'll explore Samosir, starting with Ambarita village where you see ancient megalithic structures including the 'cannibal table,' an important gathering place for Sialagana King. Next is Simanindo village at the island's north end, featuring traditional Batak Toba houses and the Sidauruk King museum where traditional dance performances happen. You'll also visit Koh Tao island for swimming in Lake Toba, shopping for souvenirs, and seeing the tomb of King Sidabutara, a sarcophagus over 200 years old. Back at your hotel in the afternoon.

Samosir to Medan
You'll take a ferry from Samosir back to Parapat with your vehicle aboard. From there, the drive back to Medan takes you on winding roads with views of Lake Toba before heading into the city. Your guide can arrange stops along the way if you'd like.

Medan to Padang
A transfer takes you to Medan airport for your flight to Padang. Once you land at Minangkabau Airport, local staff will pick you up and bring you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to do what you want.

Padang to Siberut Island - Mentawai Tribe Land
An early morning transfer around 6:00 to 6:15 gets you to Muara Harbor for a 7:00 AM departure. You'll have a breakfast box provided. The fast boat to Muara Siberut takes about 3 hours 15 minutes direct, or around 4 hours if you stop in Sakabulian. After arriving and collecting luggage, you'll take an Angkot to the harbor. While local staff check in with police, you'll have lunch at a local house. Then a small motorized wooden boat takes you about 2 hours to Mentawai tribe land (timing depends on water depth and currents). You'll trek through muddy terrain, sago plantations, and jungle to the Uma traditional house. After setting up bedding, you'll have dinner there.

Following breakfast, you'll join in the daily activities of the Mentawai tribe, which might include searching for sago worms, making sago powder (their main food), fishing, making traditional loincloths, creating arrow poison, or visiting neighboring Uma houses. What you do depends on what's happening during your visit.

Mentawai Tribe Land - Day 2
