Khiva to Bukhara
The road trip from Khiva to Bukhara takes you through open countryside and into the Kyzylkum desert. You'll have time to relax during the drive and watch the landscape change as you travel toward this historic Silk Road city.

Landmarks Kyzylkum Desert - Day 3
Bukhara
A guided tour covers Bukhara's major sites including the Poi-Kalyan Mosque and Lyab-i Hauz complex. After traditional plov for lunch at a local home, you'll try your hand at puppet-making, visit a miniature school, and wind down at the Silk Road Spice teahouse before dinner with regional dishes.

Bukhara
You have the freedom to walk Bukhara on your own terms today. The old city's winding streets and smaller alleyways reward wandering, and you can move at your own pace to take in what interests you most.

- Day 5
Bukhara to Samarkand
This morning you can either continue exploring Bukhara solo or join an optional trip to the Bahautdin Nakshbandi Necropolis and Sitorai Mokhi Khosa Palace. After lunch, you'll head to Kagan station and take the train to Samarkand.

Samarkand
Samarkand's main bazaar and intricately tiled mausoleums are the focus of your day. You'll also visit the Hovrenko Wine Factory for a tasting that showcases the city's centuries-old wine heritage, then catch a theatrical performance with traditional music at the Samarkand Theatre of Historical Costumes.

Spend your day either exploring Samarkand's monuments at your own pace or join an optional tour to Shakhrisbz to see Timur's birthplace. The Ak-Saray Palace with its gold mosaics and the striking blue dome of Kok Gumbaz Mosque are the highlights if you go. Evening brings dinner at a local restaurant.

Samarkand to Tashkent
Check out the Afrasiab Museum and its collection of ancient artifacts, then visit the Meros Paper Mill to see how paper is made using traditional techniques. In the afternoon, catch the high-speed train back to Tashkent and finish with dinner at a restaurant near your hotel.
