  • Madrid and Magical Morocco reviewer 1
    · November 8th, 2022
I cannot recommend Europamundo Madrid and Magical Morocco to English speakers. Prior to the tour, there was no notice that I could be placed in a Spanish speaking tour. When I printed the voucher at the Praga hotel in Madrid, the disclaimer was there and I was informed that I was in a Spanish speaking tour.by the 3rd say, I had been shuffled into at least 4 different tour groups. By the 4th day, I had 3 different tour guides. We had the same guide for all of Morocco who was spanish speaking with limited English skills. Preference was given to the Spanish speakers. Much less information ws given to the English speakers which led to confusion. We were given english speaking guides for tours of the medina in Marakesh and Fez. One young man who had used Europamundo before said this was the secon time he had been put in a Spapnish speaking tour. He had gone to Italy on his 1st Europamundo trip. Several people including myself had great difficulty getting information from Gabriella, our contact with this tour. She was not timely in responses and instead of providing assistance, she would fail to answer questions. She repeatedly sent the same useless information about hotels even when family members wanted to know where we were staying. Is it really possible that our hotels are not booked until 72 hours before the trip. She cheated me out of my initial transfer to the hotel Praga because she responded to my request less that 15 hours prior to my request and I was denied a change because the "transfer department" required 72 hours notice. Europamundo does not provide transfers at the end of the tour, even though they return passengers to Madrid as late as 8:30 pm on the last day of the tour. A woman I traveled with tried to find out what hotel they were being left off at even when she booked an additional night post tour. She was told that her booking was confirmed but refused to tell her what hotel and she had toarrange her own transfer. I caution people about the itinerary in Morocco. The last 3 days are really just long bus rides of 6-8 hours duration with breaks. Erfoud was a destination which added little to the experience. I loved the rustic hotels but not worth the time in travel or interest. We were not given any tour of Tangiers. We had an overnight but arrived at 7:30 pm and were leavingthe next day. We were provided with English speaking guides 3 times for the medina in Marrakesh and Fez. The guide in Fez rushed us through the souks to places that he gets an incentive with the shops. He took us to leather, brass, argan oil, carpet and loth weavers. Even though we asked, we were not given time to shop at other places in the souk. I was separated at the brass shop that I did not want to see and taken to another shop where I was presssured into buying a pair of silver earrings that are supposed to be antique for 139.98. The team that Europamundo had for the Prtugal extension seemed more organized as evidenced by the difference in the description of the tour itinerary. Dparture times were listed and information about the itinerary. Tour radar may have access to the different itineraries and know who to look at. I was definetly cheated in my experience and think it really bad news being put in Spanish speaking tour.

The overall tour is ethnic specific. They did attempt to include the English speaking guests, but not enough to make the experience enjoyable. The Moroccan part of the tour was more inclusive. They provided English speaking guides and split the group to accommodate their guest. The accommodations were clean but not all hotels were well represented by the photographs online. The food was adequate. You get what you paid for.

We took the tour from USA. We specifically said we speak only English. In whole trip 6 of us out of 50 passengers were Spanish speaking. Tour guide was trying hard to explain in English. We are pure vegetarian. Food was horrible. For vegetarian everyday bread and salad was the only option. Overall very bad experience. Everyday spending whole day in traveling. Then check in at hotel and next day morning check out. Hotel suppose to be 4-5 stars but few were very chep. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TRIP. WEAST OF TIME AMD MONEY. I GAVE 1 STAR BECAUSE NO OPTION FOR NEGATIVE STAR. ????????

Combining 2 languages on 1 bus does not work. It invites aggression, and disrespect. I believe the guides should set the tone from the start. Because people are getting on and off at different points and no orientation day, the tour already starts with anxiety and confusion.
