- CCCindy· October 4th, 2023I was surprised by how large the tour group was (60 +). There was a family of 20 that should have had their own tour. In fact, they were told they were going to have their own tour & was surprised to have been with this already large tour group. The problem was that the family of 20 was always late coming back from tour stops which made us late to the next stops. At One stop , they were an hour late getting back to the bus. The tour guide scolded them & told them they can’t do that but they didn’t really care. We were supposed to have time for lunch in Gruyère & we ended up having only a 1/2 hour. We were supposed to go to the Lumiere which was a highlight & we were told it was too late & crowded & we couldn’t get tickets- that was a huge disappointment. The tour guide Philippe, & the bus driver were great. They tried their best to keep us on time but it’s difficult with that large of a group. I wish we had more time in Gruyère & Lucerne (we got to Lucerne late as well). It was a lot of time on the bus & not enough time at the stops. We never saw Girona, Leysin,or Chambery (got there in the dark) & left the next morning. We had planned our meals around the stops but that didn’t work out due to not enough time at the stops (i.e Gruyère) or getting in too late & not much being open (i.e Girona & Chambery). you need to take a better look at your stops & timing. Maybe have less stops & more time at places that matter, like Gruyère & Lucerne. We didn’t need to be in Geneva for 1 1/2 hours, there isn’t much to see or do. The hotels were nice but out of the way especially Barcelona.
