Lisbon
A guide takes you through Lisbon's seven hills, winding alleys, and traditional tiles, then heads to Belem where Portuguese explorers once set sail. The afternoon is yours to check out Bairro Alto and its viewpoint at your own pace, then you'll head back to the hotel from Restauradores Square.

- Day 3
Lisbon - Caceres - Madrid
You'll leave Portugal early and drive through Alentejo with a coffee break in Estremoz to see its medieval castle and old streets. After lunch in Caceres and time to walk around its medieval and Renaissance center, you'll continue on to Madrid, arriving in the evening at Plaza Mayor.

- Day 4
Madrid
Your guide takes you through central Madrid hitting Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, Puerta de Alcala, Plaza de Colon, and Plaza Mayor. Then you'll walk around Retiro Park with its lake and Palacio de Cristal, and visit Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. The afternoon is free, with an evening transfer back to the hotel.

Head out from Madrid through Castile to Zaragoza to see the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar. You'll stop at Poblet Abbey, one of Europe's best-preserved medieval monasteries, then continue to Barcelona, arriving in the evening.

Barcelona - Girona

- Day 7
Girona - Arles - Chambery
You'll head into France through Provence, stopping in Arles, a UNESCO site known for its Van Gogh connections. Check out the Roman theater and Romanesque churches with time for lunch and walking around. Then you'll visit Carrieres des Lumieres, an art display in an old quarry, and reach Chambery by evening.

- Day 8
Chambery - Geneva - Gruyeres - Chillon - Leysin

You'll go to Gruyeres village and tour the Maison Cailler Chocolate Factory, then see Chillon Castle on Lake Geneva before reaching Leysin with its views of the Rhone Valley and Mont Blanc. Take a cable car up to Glacier 3000, one of Switzerland's top spots with year-round ice and snow. Walk the suspended bridge between peaks, explore the Ice Cathedral, or try the Fun Park. After lunch in Interlaken, you'll head to Lucerne then arrive in Zurich by evening with time to walk around the center.

Leaving Zurich early, you'll cross the Alps to the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. Stop in Bellinzona to see its three medieval castles (UNESCO sites) and wander the streets. Enter Italy and have lunch in Como with its gardens and cathedral, then continue to Milan where you'll walk around Piazza del Duomo before heading to the hotel.

- Day 12
Rome
Your guide takes you on a three-hour mix of walking and panoramic bus tour through Imperial Rome, passing the Arch of Constantine, the Colosseum exterior, Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, and other sites, ending at Vatican City around 11:00 a.m. An optional Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel visit is available. By evening you'll transfer to Trastevere for dinner before returning to the hotel around 8:30 p.m.

You'll head north from Rome to Florence, and once you arrive, make your way to Piazzale Michelangelo for those panoramic views of the city. From there, walk through the historic center with a local guide who'll take you past Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. After the guided portion wraps up, you've got free time to wander around on your own and check out whatever catches your interest. By evening, pick from one of the local restaurants for dinner.
