Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Sri Lanka
You'll arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport where a representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Negombo, a coastal town just north of Colombo. The rest of your day is open for relaxing at the beachside hotel, taking a walk along the beaches, or swimming in the pool. Later in the evening, you'll meet your tour guide to go over what's planned for the coming days.

Habarana
An early 6:00 AM departure gets you on the road for about 4 hours to Habarana in the Cultural Triangle. You'll start at Ritigala, an ancient monastery from the 1st century BC, where you can wander through the ruins surrounded by thick jungle. After lunch, a jeep safari at Habarana National Park gives you chances to see wild elephants and other wildlife. You'll be back at the hotel by evening.

- Day 3
Minneriya
Following breakfast, you'll head to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a 200-meter-high citadel from the 5th century AD. The climb takes you through the lion's paw entrance with frescoes and graffiti to see along the way. From there, Pidurangala Rock provides an even better unobstructed view of Sigiriya. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll stop at a wood carving factory before spending the afternoon on a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park looking for Asian elephants and birds.

Dambulla - Kandy
After breakfast, you'll head to Hiriwadunna, a rural village where you can ride in a bullock cart and take a boat across a peaceful lake while learning about local life and farming. Then you continue toward Kandy with a stop at Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, a UNESCO site with five caves and over 150 Buddha statues. You'll check in to your Kandy hotel in the late afternoon, then watch a traditional Kandyan cultural show with drumming and fire dances before visiting the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

Kandy
Your day in Kandy starts with the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, where 147 acres feature orchids, fig trees, and landscaped grounds dating back to 1843. Next you'll see the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of Buddhism's most important sites within the royal palace complex. A slow walk around Kandy Lake lets you take in the quiet atmosphere and surrounding hills. In the evening, there's another traditional Kandyan cultural show before you return to your hotel.

From Kandy, you'll travel through the central highlands to Nuwara Eliya, passing tea plantations and stopping to see Devon Falls and St. Clair's Falls. Once there, you'll visit a tea factory and plantation to learn how tea gets made from leaf to cup, with fresh Ceylon tea served with views of the hills. Later, you can see Gregory Lake, Victoria Park, or the Hakgala Botanical Garden and Seetha Amman Temple depending on your interests.

Horton Plains - Tissamaharama
You'll leave early with packed breakfast for Horton Plains National Park at 2,100 meters elevation. The trek takes you through cloud forests to World's End, where a 900-meter drop opens up below you, and Baker's Falls provides water views through dense woodland. There's good birdwatching here among the highland plants. By afternoon, you'll transfer to Tissamaharama as your gateway to Yala National Park, arriving with time to settle in and prepare for tomorrow's safari.

Mirissa
A 5:00 AM start gets you to Yala National Park for a full-day game drive. You'll have packed breakfast en route and a Sri Lankan lunch at a park resting area while searching for leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and deer, plus over 130 bird species. After the wildlife drive, you'll head to Mirissa (about 5 hours away), a beach town where you can relax by the water for the evening.

Mirissa
Your morning starts with a whale and dolphin watching boat ride from Mirissa, heading about 15 kilometers into the Indian Ocean. You might see Blue Whales, Sperm Whales, Killer Whales, and various dolphins, plus flying fish, sea turtles, and manta rays if you're lucky. Back on shore, you'll visit stilt fishermen at Weligama, then explore Galle Dutch Fort, a UNESCO site with colonial architecture. A spice garden and moonstone mine are also on the itinerary before you end in Ambalangoda.

Ambalangoda
After breakfast, you'll drive to Balapitiya for a river safari through the Madu Ganga, Sri Lanka's second-largest wetland ecosystem with 900 hectares and 64 small islands. The boat glides through mangrove tunnels while you look for over 300 plant species and 250 wildlife species including exotic birds. Back in Ambalangoda, the mask museum shows how traditional masks are carved and painted for ceremonial dances. A turtle conservation center teaches about Green Turtles before you have the rest of the afternoon free.

Departure
After breakfast, your driver will take you from Ambalangoda to Colombo's Bandaranaike International Airport, a journey of about 5 hours depending on traffic. You'll arrive with time for your departing flight, ending your Sri Lankan tour and heading home.
