Itinerary
- Day 1
Martigny to Branson
Drop off your luggage in Martigny, then catch a bus to Branson where the hike starts. You'll walk through the Rhone Valley wine region heading toward Saillon, with Mont Blanc's snowfields visible in the distance as you go. The route takes you through Fully, which is known for producing Petite Arvine wine. It's a solid introduction to the valley's terrain and what you'll see over the next few days.

Chamoson to Sion
This morning you're hiking through limestone terrain at Chamoson, where sun-exposed gravel vineyards cover the slopes. After that, head toward Vétroz, home to the rare Amigne grape variety grown in this specific region. You'll finish the day in Sion with its old vine terraces and ancient irrigation systems still visible. A guided tour and wine tasting round out your evening there.

- Day 3
Sion to Sierre
Today involves hiking some very steep vineyard terraces around Sion, with views of the castle-crowned twin rocks at Valeria and Tourbillon. Later you'll continue to the Coteaux de Sierre, which is Switzerland's largest AOC wine region. By evening you're doing a raclette tasting at the Château de Ville, so you'll get a different kind of local food experience alongside the wine.

Sierre to Leuk
The final day takes you through the Leuk, Varen, and Salgesch region, where a quarter of Valais's Pinot Noir comes from. This area has lots of natural variety and surprises along the way. There's a great viewpoint near a hilltop church close to Varen that's worth the detour. After you reach Leuk, pick up the luggage you left in Martigny and head out.
