Barcelona to French Riviera
This morning you'll meet your Trip Manager and the Contiki crew before leaving Barcelona. The drive takes you along the French Riviera coast, and you'll see those blue waters and charming coastal spots that make this region so appealing. By evening, you're settled at your accommodation with an included dinner waiting for you.

Monaco
If you're up for it, there's an optional coastal bike ride along the French Riviera to start the day. You'll get to try the local food here, things like lavender honey, aioli, and rosé wine. Later you head to Monaco to see the Monte Carlo Casino and Royal Palace. After that, it's back to your place for the night.

Monaco to Cinque Terre to Pisa
Today takes you south to Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Your rail pass is included, so you can move between the fishing villages however you like. Some people hike, others do food crawls or taste wine. By evening you'll travel to Pisa and check into your hotel there.

Pisa to Florence
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is on the agenda, and yes, you'll get that classic photo holding it up. Walk through Pisa's markets with gelato in hand and look at works by Michelangelo and other masters. There's also an included leather demonstration showing traditional Italian craftsmanship. Later you head to Florence for the night.

Florence to Sorrento
You leave Florence and travel south toward Sorrento. Once you arrive at this coastal town, you'll take in the seaside views at sunset. If you're interested, there's an optional visit to La Sorgente, a family mozzarella farm where you can eat fresh homemade mozzarella, quality olive oil, and limoncello.

- Day 6
Capri - Sorrento
A day trip to Capri means you'll see dramatic, rocky coastlines and upscale cafes. You have the option to take a cruise with swimming stops and coastal views. From there you explore Capri's scenery, then return to Sorrento. By evening you walk along the cliffs, wander the old town center, and try local gnocchi.

Landmarks Capri - Day 7
Pompeii - Mt. Vesuvius - Rome
The Amalfi Coast scenery surrounds you as you travel toward Pompeii. A guided walking tour takes you through the ancient Roman ruins. Mt. Vesuvius, an active volcano, is visible as you make your way to Rome. You'll arrive in Italy's capital and start checking out the cobblestoned streets and historic spots.

- Day 8
Rome
Start early to get the most out of Rome. The Colosseum and other Roman architecture are worth seeing up close. Your afternoon is free for whatever you want to do. An optional pasta cooking class with dinner is available tonight, or you can grab gelato and wander the ancient streets on your own.

Rome
Your tour ends this morning. Breakfast with your Contiki crew gives you time to say goodbye to people you've met and maybe make plans to meet up again later. Then you depart from Rome.
