Amsterdam
You'll board the MS RIVER DIAMOND in Amsterdam at 4:00 PM. If you get there early, the city's yours to explore and you can drop luggage at reception. Once everyone's settled, there's a welcome cocktail and dinner on board before the ship heads out for an overnight journey.

Amsterdam
After breakfast, you've got choices. There's a guided tour through Amsterdam's canals and historic houses if that appeals to you, or you can spend the day checking out museums or wandering around on your own. The ship stays docked, then after dinner it sails overnight.

Arnhem
Arnhem comes into view as the ship arrives. This capital of Gelderland is known for being green and relaxed, with plenty of parks and open spaces to walk through. You'll have free time to see what interests you, and meals are covered all day.

Cologne to Koblenz
The ship reaches Cologne early. You can join a walking tour of the old city that ends at the famous Cathedral, or head off to explore breweries, shops, and perfumeries on your own. Some people take day trips to Bonn or Düsseldorf instead. After dinner, the ship departs for Koblenz with overnight cruising.

Romantic Rhine - Rüdesheim
Today you cruise through the Romantic Rhine, a 65-kilometer UNESCO section packed with castles and vineyards. There's a full day to spend in Koblenz and Rüdesheim at either end, so you can walk around these historic towns and take in the scenery along the way.

Heidelberg
The ship pulls into Mannheim early, a university city where the Rhine and Neckar rivers meet. You'll have free time to look around, and in the afternoon there's an optional excursion to nearby Heidelberg with its famous castle if you're interested. Then it's another overnight sail.

- Day 7
Colmar
Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace in France, is next. In the morning, go exploring on your own or join a guided coach and walking tour through the historic center. After lunch, you can relax or take an optional trip to Colmar, which is one of the nicest towns in the region. The ship cruises overnight.

Disembarkation day in Mainz. You need to leave your cabin by 9:00 AM after breakfast, but you can store luggage on board and hang out in common areas or walk through the city until the tour ends. All services wrap up here.
