Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu
Your private vehicle picks you up from Tribhuvan International Airport where an ASI Reisen representative meets you at the terminal. The drive to your hotel gives you a chance to settle in, and you'll get a briefing on what's ahead for the trek plus important safety information to know before you start.
- Day 2
Kathmandu
After breakfast, you'll walk through Kathmandu Durbar Square to see palaces, temples and courtyards built between the 15th and 18th centuries. From there, head to Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) for the peaceful Buddhist setting, then make your way to Boudhanath Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can watch monks and visitors gathered around this 5th-century spiritual center. The afternoon ends at Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu shrine along the Bagmati River where religious ceremonies and spiritual practices happen.

Kathmandu to Shivalaya
You'll start early after breakfast and drive the scenic Araniko Highway toward Shivalaya, your gateway to Everest region. The route passes through Jiri and crosses the Bhote Koshi River (popular for water sports) while showing off views of the Eastern Himalayas. Rolling hills and river crossings bring you through villages until you reach the charming mountain town of Shivalaya.

Shivalaya to Bhandar
After breakfast, the trek starts heading toward Bhandar through villages, farmland and grazing areas. You'll walk through rhododendron and oak forests to Sangbadanada, then climb to Deurali Pass at 2,705 meters where views open up to Dudh Kunda Himal, Khatanga, Karylung and Pike Peak. The final hour takes you through rhododendron trails past Tibetan Buddhist Mani walls before arriving at Bhandar.

- Day 5
Bhandar to Namkhili
After a hearty breakfast, you'll descend to Likhu Khola then climb through rhododendron and pine forests heading to Chaulakharka. Along the way, you can see villages, teahouses and terraced fields, plus the Barha Himalayan Range with Karylung and Lambur Peaks in the distance. The trek ends at Namkhili village where monasteries run by the Pike Peak Social Organization are open to explore.

- Day 6
Namkhili to Ngaur
You'll hike through pine and rhododendron forests after breakfast heading toward Goli Gompa Danda. The path takes you past stupas with decorations, mani walls and prayer flags while you listen to birds all around. Reaching Ngaur Gompa lets you explore a Buddhist site and a cheese dairy. From this small hill village, you can see Gaurishankar Himal and Numbur Himal stretching across the horizon.

Landmarks/POIs Ngaur Gompa - Day 7
Ngaur to Pike Peak Base Camp
After breakfast, you're hiking through rhododendron and pine forests with mountain views all around you. You'll stop at a dairy along the Numbur Cheese Trekking Trail to taste yak cheese. The trail shows off Mt. Gaurishankar, Manaslu, Annapurna and surrounding peaks, plus Mani walls decorated with Buddhist art as you head toward Pike Peak Base Camp. Different plants and animals appear along the way.

Landmarks/POIs Pike Peak Base Camp - Day 8
Pike Peak Summit
This is the trek's main event, climbing to Pike Peak summit early in the morning. You'll follow a gradually ascending trail lined with colorful prayer flags. At the top, the sunrise reveals panoramic views across to Everest, Kanchenjunga, Dhaulagiri, Makalu, Gauri Shanker, Annapurna, Lhotse, Thamserku, Mera Peak and many more peaks. The descent follows a ridge that flattens then gets steeper into the forest toward Jarse Bhanjyang, where you can choose different routes down to Junbesi or head toward Lamjura La with its prayer flags.

Landmarks/POIs Pike Peak Lamjura La - Day 9
Junbesi
You'll descend to Tragdobuk and reach Junbesi, a Sherpa village known for its traditional culture and architecture in this sacred valley near Tibet with strong Buddhist influence. After lunch, you can visit Thubten Chholing Monastery, founded in the 1960s by Lama Trulsik Rinpoche and home to monks and nuns. The walk starts at Junbesi Gompa, follows the west bank of Junbesi Khola, crosses at Mopung and climbs up to the monastery before heading back the same way.

Junbesi to Ringmo
Head to Ringmo in the morning, cross the river and climb through the forest to Salung where views of Everest, Chamlang and Makalu come into focus. You'll descend to a stream and make a short climb to Ringmo, known for its apple orchards and local products like apple rakshi, cider and apple pie.

Ringmo to Phaplu
Follow a scenic forest trail down to Phaplu for the day. If you want, there's time to visit Chiwong Gompa, a monastery built on a cliff in 1923 that offers great views and hosts autumn festivals. After checking it out, hike down to Phaplu and celebrate finishing your trek at a cozy tea room.

Phaplu to Kathmandu
After a good breakfast, you'll drive back to Kathmandu on the scenic route. This gives you time to think back on everything you did during the trek and the places you saw.

Kathmandu
After breakfast, an ASI Reisen representative meets you for the drive to Tribhuvan Airport as your time in Nepal comes to a close. You'll reflect on your experiences here, and if you want, there are options to extend your stay and see more sights around the Kathmandu Valley.
