Conques
You'll arrive in Conques, a medieval village enclosed by ramparts and fortified gates. Spend your time wandering through the narrow streets and visiting Saint-Foy Abbey to see its Treasure collection. After settling into your accommodation, you'll have your first night here.

Conques to Livinhac-le-Haut
This morning you'll hike down from Conques toward the Dourdou River, crossing an old medieval bridge along the way. From there, the trail climbs gradually up to Sainte-Foy chapel, which has healing spring waters. As you leave Conques behind, you'll get great views of the village. By evening you'll reach Livinhac-le-Haut for the night.

Livinhac-le-Haut to Figeac
You'll hike from Livinhac-le-Haut to Figeac as the landscape changes from Aveyron into the Lot region. The morning involves steady uphill hiking, but you'll pass a viewpoint overlooking Decazeville that makes it worthwhile. After that, the trail descends into Figeac where you'll spend the night.

Landmarks Decazeville - Day 4
Figeac to Gréalou
Starting from Figeac, you'll head toward a high plateau with several climbs throughout the day. The views from up there make the effort worth it, and later you'll descend into the village of Gréalou for the night.

Gréalou to Cajarc
Today you'll walk through forests without as much climbing as previous days. Along the route you'll pass ancient dolmens and stone shelters specific to this region, plus various stone crosses including the oldest one on the entire trek. By late afternoon you'll reach Cajarc, a nice village situated on the Lot River and surrounded by tall limestone cliffs.

Landmarks Lot River - Day 6
Cajarc to Limogne-en-Quercy
You'll walk through beautiful forests and agricultural areas within the Causses du Quercy, a group of limestone plateaus. This is a more relaxed day where you can control your own pace and take time to appreciate the scenery and trail conditions.

Limogne-en-Quercy to Lalbenque
Most of today's hiking happens on flat forest paths through the Parc naturel régional des Causses de Quercy. You'll pass more dolmens and stone structures before reaching Mas-de-Vers. The extensive forests here have many intersecting paths, so having a map makes navigation much easier. If you're interested, this area is famous for black truffles and worth trying if you find them available.

Landmarks Parc naturel régional des Causses de Quercy - Day 8
Lalbenque to Cahors
You'll hike from Lalbenque or Mas-de-Vers to Cahors, following slightly hilly routes through agricultural landscapes and several small villages. Along the way you'll see traditional stone shepherd's huts called caselle. Once in Cahors, you can visit the UNESCO World Heritage Valentré Bridge and the historic Saint-Étienne de Cahors Cathedral.
