Itinerary
- Day 1
Ragusa Ibla
You'll start in Ragusa Ibla, the historic center that's been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002. This baroque town is worth taking time to walk through, with elegant churches and palaces throughout. Plan to wander the streets, get a feel for the architecture, and have lunch at one of the local spots. It's a good day to settle in and explore on foot without the bike.

Later you'll leave the water behind and cycle inland to Scicli, which has baroque buildings like Palazzo Beneventano and the church of San Bartolomeo. Then it's on to Modica, another baroque town famous for its chocolate, so try some if you're hungry. The day covers 37 km with 625 m of climbing, which is substantial, so pace yourself.

The area has real history if you want to stop and look around. Push on to Ispica to see the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Loggiato del Sinatra.
