Once the paperwork is sorted out, your trek starts through rainforest where you might catch sight of primates. The hike to Mandara Hut covers 8.3km and takes around 5 hours. From there, your guide can take you up to Maundi Crater so you can look out over the Kenyan interior.

After 4 to 6 hours of trekking over 12.5km, Horombo Hut shows up at 3700m altitude (about 9 hours total). Standing at the hut, you'll see views of Mawenzi, Kibo, and the Masai steppe stretching out below.

After a relaxed breakfast, you trek for 4 hours to Zebra Rocks at 4020m, named for their black and white striped appearance. A warm lunch waits when you get back to Horombo Hut, leaving the afternoon free for rest and recovery before tomorrow.

Kibo Hut typically comes into reach after 5 to 6 hours. Dinner happens early, and you'll get to bed soon after since tomorrow starts in the middle of the night.

When the sun rises, you'll reach Gillman's Point at 5681m on the crater rim as warmth spreads across the land. Another 1 to 2 hours gets you to Uhuru Peak at 5895m. After a warm meal back at Kibo Hut and a 1 to 2 hour rest, you'll head down to Horombo Hut.

It was an unforgettable Kilimanjaro experience through the Marangu route for 6 days! Our guides were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly kind and encouraging, ensuring we felt safe throughout our journey. Surprisingly amazing food kept our spirits high amid the challenges. Most importantly, all 10 of us reached the summit together, an achievement made possible by our remarkable guide and dedicated porters. We are truly grateful and would recommend this exceptional team without hesitation!

It is nothing short of 5 stars for Migration Venture Africa for giving my sister and I the adventure of our lifetime on our recent conquest of Kilimanjaro - via Marangu route. Planning - Flawless and timely responses from Amos who was patient and explained everything to the tiniest detail assuring us as it was our first time taking on such a huge mountain. The Actual Trek - Well organized, great equipment, amazing food, sanitizers, mobile toilet and above all the amazing crew! Highlights- Reaching the summit, awesome views of the surroundings as we went up the mountain. Super wonderful guys, we love you all!

The trek was well organized, and went much better than planned. The guides were well informed and fun to be around. The cook and waiter made us feel comfortable 1000s of miles from home, and the porters did an incredible job, especially in ensuring camp was set up before we arrived.

This route was amazing… if you want to stay away from the crowds and enjoy more of the forests this route will lead you along the ridge lines until you clear the wood line. You’ll need a good level of fitness but don’t think you’ll need to be doing the Tour de France. The team were exceptional, everyone of them played their part to ensure we had the right equipment. The guide displayed his knowledge and understanding of both the mountain and the needs for the customer. I would highly recommend using Migration Venture Africa, I really have nothing negative to say about them. But from a personal note, when you come here to climb kilo pack sensibly. Don’t rely on the team to carry all your gear. In my opinion you shouldn’t be on the mountain if you can’t carry your own stuff, the guys have enough to carry with food, water, and camping equipment.

Tanzania is the best country to visit and explore Migration also is the best company to arrange all of your Tanzania excursions. At first our communication with Migration Venture was easy and satisfying due to the questions we had. They above and beyond to cater for our needs especially as we travelled with our two little boys to hike Mount Kilimanjaro via Marangu route. We were worried the capability and the weather if it will be possible for these boys to make it to the top but thanks God Migration Venture Africa made it possible for all of us. We had the best and incredible guides who was always there to help and support us for everything for the entire adventure.

As soon as we heard about Migration Venture Africa Ltd’s reputation from our friends, we speeded up our conversation with the agency to take us to the place right on time. When we were unsure, Siza would tell us to be patient so we didn’t have to miss what we came here to do and see. Not only Siza can lead you to Uhuru paak, he is also a great photographer - he taught us how to get the best photos. We are so lucky to have Siza and Vitalis as our guides and would like to recommend them to anyone who wants to come to Kilimanjaro, to see its beauty in your own eyes!!

Migration Venture provided an extraordinary and a very pleasurable end-to-end experience for us during our successful Kilimanjaro climb through the Lemosho route. Starting with ease of interaction with Amos at the point of sale to the patience exhibited by our able and highly experienced guides, Epa and Joseph along with an outstanding team of porters, cooks and tent folks, our overall experience was simply outstanding. They all came together to constantly motivate and help us through out the way to successfully summit the Uhuru peak one day ahead of schedule. This really helped us with additional time to rest and recuperate after the climb. The accommodations arranged by the company pre- and post-climb at Chanya Lodge in Moshi was equally delightful. The staff out there, the wonderful ambience inside and outside our room, and the restaurant food made us so much feel welcome and at home. We could have never dreamed of accomplishing this feat without their help. Kilimanjaro climb does expose us to very harsh environmental conditions ( extreme temperature changes and UV radiation from the Sun), with steep grades at various points during the climb. It is nearly impossible to simulate such conditions and train effectively for a 15K ft+ climb prior to the climb. Yet, we were able to completely avoid an signs of early fatigue, burnout or high altitude sickness and I would attribute all of that success to Epa, Joseph and the team of porters. I would not hesitate to climb again with these wonderful and highly committed folks, perhaps in about 2 years from now.
