Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Forno di Moena

You'll arrive in Forno di Moena, a small village in the Fiemme Valley about 53 km northeast of Trento. The setting here is pretty special with major mountain groups surrounding you on all sides: Marmolada to the east, Latemar to the southwest, and Catinaccio toward the southeast. After getting to your accommodation and settling in, you'll have time to prepare for the hiking that starts tomorrow. This is mostly about getting oriented and resting up before the adventure begins.

    Catinaccio Group
  2. Day 2

Predazzo - Passo Feudo - Lake Carezza

Three different hiking options are available today, and they all begin at the Passo Feudo chairlift station and end at Lake Carezza. The easier route takes 3 hours 15 minutes and covers 11.4 km, following gentle terrain through mountain pastures down to the lake. For something more moderate, the 3 hour 50 minute option (12 km) includes a climb to 2,331 m where you'll see views of both Latemar and Marmolada. The challenging route runs 5 hours 20 minutes over 11.3 km and involves the Via Ferrata dei Campanili del Latemar, with the Latemar hut as your only stop for food or water.

Starting from the Paolina chairlift station, you have three hiking variants to choose from depending on your energy level. The light option is 2 hours and 5.7 km, fairly relaxed with time to stop at the Paolina hut for a cappuccino. The medium choice takes 5 hours over 12.9 km and passes by the Rotwand hut with nice panoramic views before descending through the Vaiolet hut. The difficult variant is the longest at 6 hours 45 minutes (8.9 km) and includes a via ferrata section with a summit experience offering 360-degree views of the Dolomites, ending with a cable car ride back down.
